I would love to know from the rest here - isn't a solution to the ad creep just... not buying things? Like going for second hand / refurbished, avoiding big brands for food and drink, and just not shopping online (ffs)? Or am I being naive? Enlighten me!

Of course working under the assumption that the government cannot (yet) admit to tracking us for more sinister purposes. That's a problem for another day.

I am very sorry to tell you but no, people will not stop contributing once they know.

  1. People don't really care about anything not effecting them directly and immidiatly. Thats just the truth look around.
  2. Don't tell your neighbors to change, they will react hostile and you will probably drive them away further. ALWAYS talk about how these companies are mistreating THEM.

Personal responsibility is a brainwashing tactic from big corp to blame yourself and your neighbour for systematic Problems they created. Don't fall for it.
