Part of the reason I'm stepping into the role I am at work is because I fear it's crazy tough out there job hunting and this is just a kind of side step for me. The easy option.

I remember it was hard being a graduate looking for work back in my day too. Employers only want people with experience so they don’t have to invest in providing training, and it’s getting worse. Where do the next batch of people with experience come from if no one is hiring graduates? I also wonder if AI has something to do with it. With lower level type office jobs being absorbed into AI activities, therefore less and less entry level positions.
