I don't trust Meta with full access to my gallery, so anytime I have to upload something to Whatsapp, I have to specifically grant permission for that photo to Whatsapp. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 10 child comments replies: [–] kinkles@sh.itjust.works 28 points 7 months ago Same on iOS too permalink fedilink source parent [–] semperverus@lemmy.world 24 points 7 months ago Fun fact, that functionality literally came from GrapheneOS. The OS asks for user consent and the user can grant no access or limited access. Limited access, which is what you’ll want for a dating app that requires photo sharing, has been in iOS since 2020 (iOS 14). Android has been doing it since 2022 (Android 13). permalink fedilink source parent [–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago Psh, I use GOS without Storage Scopes.
