Hah! I've also been thinking to watch the sequel for quite some time but have not yet mustered the courage.

LM2: Beyond cyberspace was basically just Tron.

If you're in the US, it's free on Tubi (ublock origin adblocker for Firefox should work): https://tubitv.com/movies/675101/lawnmower-man-2-beyond-cyberspace

I thought I saw it on dailymotion but can't find it now. I think it's on archive as well.

Thanks, I have it laying around. But I need to be prepared and in the mood for the cringe.

haha tbh honest there is no Pierce Brosnan in no 2 so chances are thin.

this is actually based on a steven king short story/novel.

and i think steven king got super upset when he saw what happened to his story

Did you read the story? It has almost nothing to do with the movie except for one small scene where a guy gets killed by a lawnmower.

The short story is about someone ordering someone to mow his lawn and a dirty fat ugly guy arrives. He goes to the lawn with this monstrosity of a lawnmower. The lawnmower proceeds to move on its own with an awful noise and the fat guy follows it around to eat up the cut grass. When the lawn owner sees this he is horrified and then gets killed by the lawnmower.

Well, if anything it would be a shitcomment. But it's real. The short story is crazy. Of course Mr King put it more eloquent than me.

Saw the sequel in the theater. By far the best part is the beginning, where they replay the end of the first movie. ACCESS DENIED ACCESS DENIED

Yeah, it felt very much like watching a straight-to-video movie on the big screen.

Of course he did. No one got naked and no one ate a gopher.
