British teeth thing is an American stereotype, I’ve never seen it IRL lmao

I've seen them making fun of themselves over that on the BBC ads on old Doctor Who DVDs. Their junkfood has even more sugar in it then the American stuff.

Found it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn_KN4UiZXA

no it's because dentistry isn't on the NHS unless it's hazardous to your health, and instead says that aesthetics and day to day care are optional private procedures and that's just how teeth look when the average person doesn't have 2-4 years of orthodontics and regular whitening and polishing procedures.

Which tbf is more of an American dumb psyop than anything logical.

People in Japan only get orthodontics when they need them and they have the longest life expectancy in the world. No one cares if your teeth are a little crooked. But as always, the US is obsessed with the most plastic and unnecessarily expensive version of yourself you can aspire to be.

Personally, I'd rather see crooked teeth than those swollen lips that for some reason seem to be popular with western models. No idea why, they are so offputting to me.

It really makes me wonder if either my tastes are way off from average, the beauty industry has no fucking clue what it's doing but lies about it, or if it's based on reality but just enough people suck at doing it in practice that there's plenty of awful results out there that stand out while the good ones fly under the radar.
