I think I was looking at 9front or something and saw their really cool site. Then got really interested in uxn os. Roms as programs blew my mind. And then their permacomputing article really revolutionized how I thought of my devices.

Taking a play out of Reddit's recent book: hoard all the valuable insights, commentary, and data that your users provided you free of charge, to sell to the highest bidder for AI training, while blocking the most free and open way of following the topics/interests that those users love.
Forget the Terminator style deathbots, the biggest harm of AI has been all these sites walling up and locking people in/out.

Forgot to mention, but I'm fairly sure they repurposed the already existing feed, as it'd been in my urls list on Newsboat already. Still good news though. =)

Wow. In 3 days, it will have been a year since I made this post. Time sure flies. =)

-
[New] Pixiv (official news) - go to https://www.pixiv.net/info.php and pick the global feed link and/or the subsection links you want from the respective signal icons acting as hyperlinks.
To check / consider / add:
- Invision-powered forums (apparently you add
.xmlat the end of their subforums but yet to confirm) - When Reddit's killing their RSS feeds (i forgor)
- If the amount of music and gallery-specific feeds justify splitting them from "Other forums/blogs/microblogs"
- NicoNico to Video / Audio streaming platforms (I don't remember the patterns)
- If I should adapt the explanations from https://smorgasborg.artlung.com/feed-patterns/ to the OP, or if linking is fine

Mastodon has rss feeds for users, not sure if there are for hashtags
I have considered that! The thing I like about lemmy/reddit though is that I can follow a single RSS feed that dynamically mirrors the communities I follow, so I can just follow things natively on lemmy, and my RSS reader will pick them up.
I was trying to figure out if Mastodon can do this but I do not think it is a thing 😞.
I have some time to figure out what I want to do, though. Who knows, maybe I'll just add a few Mastodon hashtags. Thanks for the pointer!
@jaydom28@lemmy.today maybe worth following equivalent hashtags from Mastodon #RSS feeds? Plenty without communities you get something as hashtags at least, e.g. https://mastodon.social/tags/psvita.rss for following #psvita through RSS, while the only community I know gets a post about every other month from what I notice.
Same here. I read both lemmy and reddit through an rss reader.
Unfortunately the few subreddits I follow appear to be dead or non-existent on Lemmy but that means there's room to get it going
@seashanty928@lemmy.world can't say for others, but I also find RSS to be a good way to keep motivated on using a platform, even to keep posting to or interacting with, not just quietly consuming stuff. Even more so when its UI, UX and some times even userbase are miserable at best, RSS allowing me to avoid the problematic parts.
Fuck Reddit.
I’d bet a lot of the valuable content that users freely gave to Reddit were from users who kept up with it all via RSS. Knocking them out of the picture, plus pissing off the old guard with the constant old Reddit removals, is going to shoot themselves in the foot. I’ve noticed a distinct lowering of quality and standards over there since the whole API mess when a lot of classic mods jumped ship over that choice. Seems like they’re well on their way to ruining what they had.
I just joined for that specific reason. I hope a decent mass of quality users jump ship too.
Reddit killing RSS is the reason I'm on Lemmy. Those feeds have been in danger for a while.
Redlib has support for RSS feeds but you’ll likely have to selfhost it if you want to use it, I don’t think I know public instances that have it enabled.
A billion dollar company that made their money off of the user's content, now gatekeeping the user's content completely. They make shit smell good.
Hi any suggestions for a RSS feed for me? thanks in advance. I have been using newsflash and RSS gaurd but neither are quite right. My wishlist:
- I am linux
I would like EU or opensource/privacy focused
I am super visual I like something that displays at least a bit of text and ideally a image/thumb
Has a media player or can at least play video in app. I hate YT and google so prefer to view there an then. (i like recipes and there's a few good chefs i still want to follow).
