The Hallowed Manifest (media.piefed.world)
submitted 5 days ago by to c/lego@lemmy.world

The manifestation is a culmination of the deceased as one collective conscience. It appears during Halloween to protect the abandoned area. It is a guardian of an abandoned graveyard. I am still working on the lore behind the build. I created it as part of the Bricksculpting Discord Ghosts In The Graveyard challenge. It has been awhile since I made a Halloween-themed build, and I'm quite please with the results... for now.

This build was created out of the concept of the Harvester. In the end the below picture just didn't have the pizzazz as the Agonwrought. This build was created to suffer as it cannot die.

I mean, the Harvester looks cool, but it just didn't convey the same amount of dread as the Agonwrought.

Just something I threw together on stream. I might make instructions for it as well.

I'm very surprised checking the "Lego City" theme and seeing that there's police station, fire station, airport, trains, buses, boats, other stuff... but no inhabitants!

This is not as I remember from years ago. Then there were also houses (this and this for instance), the postman...

What happened? Colour me nostalgic, but looking at older sets I find them more beautiful than many I see today.

So, I created instructions for the Widowbloom Lotus. I plan on making more instructions for other builds, and no not the Veinhart... 🤣

I believe this is from this year's show, which ends later today.

Statler and Waldorf of course are two geriatric cranks who've been jeering the Muppet Show since 1975, safely ensconced in their upper-level box seats. They were named after two landmark NYC hotels, the Statler Hilton and the Waldorf-Astoria.

You can probably approximate the piece's overall dimensions from this closeup:

This is certainly dating me, but I used to see loads of lovely diorama interiors online, both real-life and CG-produced, around 25-30yrs ago. For example medieval castles, Dungeons&Dragons-type fantasy scenarios, and lush, detailed historical settings that filled up the entire screen, making the viewer feel that they were inside the sets. Wallpaper material, one might say. The feel was like in the OP, as well as maybe this one:

Again, the cropping made you feel like you were inside the piece, as opposed to it being a build sitting on a table or whatnot, like so:

Not sure if anyone knows or remembers what I'm talking about, but my basic question is just-- anybody have source for stuff like the former..?

3d printed parts. Tires and helment. Trial and error progression for helment. Modded ender3 pro. Pushing the limit of resolution for the setup, but fun results!

I'm designing a new MOC for my NeoClassic Space Moonbase: A tracked dumper like the ones from https://www.ntdh.co.uk/ which I've seen at the Whitchurch channel breach, but, of course, "spacified" with a blue cabin and engine cabinet.

Now I'm not the LEGO technic guy, and for the tread assembly, I've found the piece 32272 (Technic, Liftarm, Modified Bent Thick 1 x 9 (7 - 3)), which would make a for me perfect spacing to place the outermost gears. Sadly, this piece has axle holes instead of pin holes at the ends. So I could make a plain show piece where the tracks can't move as the axle with the gear can't turn.

So, what is your opinion: Is a static model sitting on a display OK, or should I find ways to make the tread "spin", even though it will never move?

There are number of similar waterfalls on YT (some using actual water!), but I found this the most charming of the lot. Just that it's only on Instagram, I guess.

I really enjoy how well I made these and their articulation points. I felt that the mechs needed some companions, so I created the Shepherds and their corresponding load out kits. They're not 100% functional in a way I want, but boy howdy I enjoy them! I want to make more and create a proper scene for each, some day.
