Reports do not get sent for moderators without a lemmy.world account

Is that so? Just wondering if that's specific to .world? In my experience mod queues and actions federate between Lemmy instances just fine. The problems only start when mixing different software, such as trying to moderate a community on a PieFed instance from a Lemmy instance.

thanks! ArticleFerry already saves a plain EPUB file, so it should work with CrossPoint today: save the article, then on the reader open File Transfer, join your wifi and upload the file from the page it shows (or copy it to the SD card). I haven't tested it on an X4 myself, so if something renders oddly let me know. sending straight to the reader over wifi would be a neat addition, I'll note it down.

Ah craaaaaaaap. No, all I saw is removing the support for Vimeo and changing the names etc., and I didn't understand that VBPF didn't work for playlists, hence the rationale behind a fork. I didn't look through the whole commit; I think my eyes just glazed over after reading all the branding changes and seeing Vimeo support dropped.

    When I read:

Separate add-on built on Video Background Play Fix (MIT) by Timothy Guan-tin Chien and Jan Henning. New name, id and icon. With Firefox for Android in the background, YouTube moves to the next video but never starts it; a watchdog calls the player's playVideo() when it is stuck. Tested on a Galaxy A14 with Firefox 157. Vimeo removed (untested).

    I saw:

    • "Separate add-on." So it's a fork.
    • "New name, id and icon." So changing the branding.
    • "With Firefox for Android in the background, YouTube moves to the next video but never starts it." As someone who uses NewPipe, I mistook this as one of the base problems VBPF was addressing and this as just reiterating what the extension is doing. I don't know how, because rereading it, that doesn't make any sense, but that's how I read it at the time.

@lagudafuad@lemmy.world, I owe you a serious apology. There's no reason I should've been this careless, especially when I was so aggressive. I've downvoted my own comments and will be amending them.

You literally just forked Video Background Play Fix, gave it a “New name, id and icon”, and nothing else.

Did we look at the same diff? https://github.com/lagudafuadtosin/plays-on/commit/95aed0ca49074f2477aa597038346ad8e885686f clearly has functional changes. Scroll past breaking the various translations and you'll see some changes in video-bg-play-content.js:

I can't tell you if this extension actually works but Video Background Play Fix did not work for playlists for me in the past (that was before I discovered Vanced).

    I made

Looking at the commit history, you made fuck-all. You literally just forked Video Background Play Fix, gave it a "New name, id and icon", and nothing else.

Your only two commits are here changing the names etc. and here, allegedly fixing a single bug.

You didn't make shit, OP. Fuck off. I didn't think there was anything more insulting than "I made this" when it's just unmaintainable, dead-end trash spun up with Claude in two hours, but here we are.

I was completely wrong. I'm a fucking idiot and had no right to be aggressive like this. Please see @woelkchen@lemmy.world's comment below. This fork serves to fix something that Video Background Play Fix didn't. And it doesn't seem like the original project is merging any PRs, so a fork seems reasonable.

You mean the "try it for free" where you only get 50GB of usages per month for "free" where it will stop working if you hit that, and then they have a paid subscription if you want more? That "free"?

"If you need more data, you can subscribe to Mozilla VPN for unlimited usage"

Sounds like fucking advertising to me
