I feel like 7k was always a deliberate tall tale. Like, 700 is just too believable and not awe inducing enough to attract pilgrims, you know?

In the game world I always just assumed a lot of the steps were destroyed over time by landslides, or obscured by snow.
The Graybeards must surely have such strong thighs under their robes.
I like the theory that there are 7000 steps but as the mountain is one of the towers holding up the world (like red mountain and the adamantine tower) time is warped as you step so you don't experience all the steps.
I never struggled with the frost troll, tbh.
My wallet has leapt into a corner now and is giving you the evil eyes from across the room, hissing like an alleycat. Thanks.
I didn’t think it had long legs but it was fun for a minute.
The biggest thing it did was make me want a game where I could create my character. Playing as Krogan,or Geth, etc was the appeal to me.
Let's me help you, the play through I watched was very good, and I say this as someone who is not a souls-like fan.
The visuals in particular were beautiful, perfect mix of old school vibes and modern production values.

I've heard so much good about this game it's actually a problem. Mantra time, I guess.

If the game arrives in 18 months, I will cook and eat a single blade of grass and award you a single ‘I told you so’ coupon lol
RemindMe! 18 months
It will arrive in 18 months or so, this isn't like Star Citizen, they have financial incentives to release.
Especially with Microsoft hollowing out their gaming devisions.
I look forward to the release around the time I can retire to an old folks home.
To save time and money I assume. Jun is a set character with specific backstory and even existing family, so they didn't want to deal with making sure that all animation and cutscenes work with custom characters. It's not impossible of course but it's still their first game.
This is awful. Did they just not want to build a customer character creator?
Bad article. The one on the right is an even older iteration that people had fewer problem with. Last one before this change looked more like a gigachad:

More so, "immersive sim" games sound like they should be simulators, like Flight Sim or Trucking Sim, but they're not.
My association with action RPGs are primarily action games with somewhat minor RPG elements (as in you can't play a racically different character) often with good writing and/or world building.
Deus Ex and other games that fall under the immersive sim umbrella may lean toward action RPG or CRPG, but for me what defines them is deep locational flexibility and choice.
For example, Diablo is clearly an action RPG, but it doesn't really have the location specific elements to it.
Deus Ex is arguably also an action RPG (although less so than most modern action RPGs) while also offering distinct choices and approaches at the location level.
From a branding perspective I get that using just RPG is probably easier and immersive sim is not a well known (or easy to define), category by players.
I think Deus Ex's creators called it an immersive sim? I called it an action RPG. That is, an action game with stat/skill points you can allocate and some trivial choices.
Amber Folio 1.0 is out, the emulator's first full release. Pool of Radiance now plays from start to finish, still in a browser tab or on a phone, from your own GOG or Steam copy, whose files never leave your browser. There's a 32-second trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev-IouRss2s
Since this post: fight messages stay up long enough to read, turning and walking are quicker, a controller's buttons can be remapped, and a short fanfare written for the project plays on the Tandy chip as the game starts.
Edges, glad the journal caught your eye: it's still there, entry by entry on the game's own screen. shatterling, sorry, the Krynn games don't run yet; they follow one game at a time, with no date yet.
Built with heavy use of AI coding tools; not affiliated with the rights holders. If you try it, what's the first thing you'd change?
After seeing title (but not having yet read the overview) on turnbasedlovers, I was hoping this wouldn't be a fantasy RPG, but alas...
And I was a regional manager at Radio Shack. Ain't nobody can prove otherwise now.
Of course they had lofty goals during the planning stage. Would they have been given the budget for that level of reactivity?
So what basis was selected? Tolkien, Conan or Diablo? Because I've played Dragon Age and can't tell.
