Vs. Minnesota, 11/1/26

Yeaaaarrgh. I missed the second high sticking call, but the first and third looked pretty questionable in the arena.

Other than the first 5 minutes (and the last few when the game was already out of hand), I thought the Caps played the Wild pretty well, they were getting pressure and shots. Can't spot another team 2 goals, though. That's bad.

vs flyers october 28 - Anyone else watching this one? First period, caps aren't scoring or even getting a lot of shots they're just playing globetrotters passing the puck around in the offensive zone. Good to see them having fun at least.

    vs montreal october 14:

Beninati: Do you know who got the assist on Scott Stevens' first goal?

Laughlin: That was me! I remember that! In New York! I was his first assist!

Beninati: And do you remember who got the secondary assist?

    Laughlin: I don't care.

    Great banter tonight.

home opener vs pittsburgh october 7 - I thought Chychrun was our mvp last season but to me he hasn't looked as sharp so far this season. Not worth reading too much into seven periods worth of play though, especially when he's got three points already anyway.

postgame edit: That was pretty ugly after the first period, in spite of the win. Ilya had a bad game and was a factor in all three goals against. 89-80-43 line was dominant. Leonard looks better than last year.

preseason game in Hershey, September 21 - pretty sure Brodzinski has already made it onto the opening night roster (albeit probably as a healthy scratch)

My gut feeling is a lot less enthusiastic about this one, but I think it's worth reserving judgment until he's had time to gel with the team. Our pro scouting has really been on point since Carbery arrived, it's worth giving them the benefit of the doubt.

My wife likes the trade. I was like, "Who? This better not be an Erat situation!" But then I realized McMichael hasn't really lived up to the expectations here, and apparently Kyrou is pretty good and was an all star.

Best of luck to both guys!
