I ain't from Boston or any other English speaking place, and my only interests in the perfidious Albion are playing Crusader Kings (where this whole three-sided fracas makes for interesting gameplay), and waiting for it to sink under the sea as it should've done long ago if it had any shame, but this was a nice read.

Book seems to be on the local amazon page, bit pricey, but might end up buying it in a moment of weakness.

I may or may not have opened this because I have fond memories of Fulhamerica and some ignorance about English history

But befohr that shit-show at Hastings, there was the shit-show at Stamford Bridge, which is really famous tah people who have good taste but is less populah r’en a nasty puddle’ah piss in a supah shitty downtown pahkin’ gahrage tah most people, since most people would rathah fuck ’round on LinkedIn all day ’en leahrn ’bout epic histahric battles that changed the couhrse’ah fuckin’ histahry n’ whatnot.

Per WCVB, 60' higher and 120' back to "restore the sight lines."

It is iconic, but with it being the logo of a petroleum company I wouldn't be sad to see it go, really. Maybe keep the sign framework and pick a better entity to celebrate — 50501, Ponkapoag, Boston Teachers Union, Dunkin. (TIL it was originally Cities Services.)

Well, yeah…I work in Washington D.C., and the number of people who say, “Oh, I want to volunteer at the Smithsonian or National Gallery” just makes me giggle. Like, there’s a three year waiting list, and that’s for people who are already highly qualified.

Sugar? Yeah he's right on this one. A lot of popular "coffee" drinks are coffee-flavored milkshakes, especially the ones from Starbucks. Those should be a rare treat, not every day.

It's not the biggest contributor to obesity in the US, but it is a contributor.
