anyone know an equivalent drop-in replacement for the Humirei HS-1101/HS-1100 humidity sensor? the 1100s aren’t being made at all anymore, and only clones of the 1101 are being made. i have no issue with using clone components (the one I’m replacing is a clone) but this general style of sensor seems incredibly fragile and prone to falling out of calibration. (the one I’m replacing had, and then broke when I tried to take it apart to clean/investigate it)#AskFedi #DuckDuckFedi @askfedi

#AskFedi @askfediHey! I’ve been meaning to start self-hosting stuff, but I’m pretty sure my ISP would be Big Mad(tm) about running several web servers from my home internet. Does anyone know of a service where you can incorporate a tunnel of sorts to serve data from a machine in your house on a remote IP? Thanks! :)

#AskFedi @askfedibit of a font question here, does anyone know what font is on this label? I see it in a lot of generic and budget electronics from the 70s and 80s, but nothing i've checked matches. anyone got any ideas?

#AskFedi @askfedi #Tech @techAnyone know any good repair places in #Seattle for iOS devices? My iPad 9 keeps panicking due to a bad thermal sensor.

#AskFedi @askfedi looking for a good general purpose instwnce blocklist. anyone got any suggestions?

@askfedi #AskFedi I need a regex (for Discord’s AutoMod) that prevents any text in all Unicode “fonts” from being sent. By “Unicode fonts” I mean things like these: texteditor.com/font-converter/Spammers are frequently using them to get around the existing regexes and no one in the server uses them legitimately, so I would like a regex to catch them outright. Thanks! :)

@askfedi #AskFedi #tech I have an NEC MultiSync PA272W monitor, which will go to sleep when it has no signal. however, after a little bit of time asleep, it just turns off. I can't find an option in the settings to prevent this, does anyone know?

@askfedi #AskFedi @linux #Linux anyone know how to disable font smoothing in @tde?I can’t find it in the control center so I’m assuming it’s something with the X server

DuckDuckFedi: I keep setting /etc/asound.conf to my preferred sound device - and then the number of the device keeps changing! Any way to set it based on the device name instead or prevent the device names changing constantly?@linux #Linux @askfedi #AskFedi

#askfedi @askfedi there was a YouTube skit I remember watching where some people were playing catch and someone says something like “I always used to play catch with my dad” and one person throws progressively larger objects at the other, culminating with driving a car into them. I don’t remember what it was called and I can’t find it for the life of me, does anyone know?

I have an Ubuntu install (a fairly old version), which is configured in a very specific way. I want to create a bootable installer image that copies that config, but for use on different machines. Is there a tool that will do this?Boosts appreciated! #Linux #FOSS #FLOSS #Tech #AskFrdi @askfedi

@askfedi I have a couple atomic (radio controlled) clocks, all of which are unable to get the WWVB time signal (~60 KHz) properly. However, during a power outage, all my clocks were able to set themselves flawlessly, which leads me to believe there's some device in my house that is interfering with the signal. Anyone got any suggestions of devices to check?Tags, so people far smarter than I can see this: #Radio #HAMRadio #HAM #AmateurRadio(boosts appreciated!)

@GroupNebula563 @askfedi If you click on the down arrow, you can choose which engine you prefer...

@GroupNebula563 @askfedi You're right, it's a browser. Sorry, just ignore sleepy me. ;)
