how neat is that

Nature is being a bit of a dick with how much bud rot it gave one of my plants but she let me hang out with this baddie for a while, so I guess we're good.

How neat is that?

This plant has sprouted up on our driveway this summer and last and I wasn't sure what it was. I was hopeful it is milkweed, despite not getting to flower stage (likely because it is in our gravel driveway 😅).

I've been dutifully dispersing milkweed seeds in the fall, especially in the area of our municipal drainage ditch, hoping they would stratify and take. I've noticed a few more similar plants sprout up (but none in the ditch lol) and today noticed this feller hanging out.

It looks like it is a milkweed tussock moth caterpillar, which means this is a milkweed. How neat is that?

Lol sike it's slime mold.

How neat is that?

So much for that tomato plant lol

All my homies love Al.

I do kindly request that he stop eating my stairs tho, I need those.

I love spiders 💚

I wanted to tear my skin off because of the humidity but I got to see this beauty so I guess it was all okay.

This is a wild variety (not a cultivar) so it doesn't belong in the gardening comm lol

Enjoy them while they last 🤩

Jk it's not a swamp it's my house i'm in a hammock chair high as heck and it's pretty nifty

Baby robins on one side of the screened-in hut, wrens on the other.

Sorry for the shite photos, I used all 30x zoom on my phone camera lol

It's got such a short lifespan but this plant brings me so much joy.

Still too cold to see mushrooms on the forest paths but these are pretty neat.
