The ost for the original Mother is the quintessential example of 'they didn't need to go this hard.' For a Famicom game, they hired a rock musician to compose the score, who then went and made an entire album - lyrics and all - and collaborated with one of Nintendo's top musicians to simplify it down for an 8-bit cartridge.

He made this album twice btw.

This was addressed in an interview. Allegedly it was Billy's suggestion. I got the impression that 'transparency' was the excuse, but the real reason is he just wanted to show off and seem transparent. Especially since he comes off as the most opaque one in the whole film IMO.

The company and its founder are problematic, but not only have they had good journalism, Playboy has always skewed towards progressive socials issues from what I've seen. Their first trans centerfold (that they/we know of) was in 1991.

I'm guessing you didn't grow up in the age of landlines with corded handsets. They got used all to hell back when they were THE way of contacting people remotely. Kitchen phones in any home with a mother got used a lot, with the cables being dragged all over the room and sometimes into the next.

They talk like they 'like' it in the same sense that an abuse victim 'likes' a week in which they're only abused a little instead of a lot. The approval comes from comparison to the rest of new Trek. They also liked it better than the TNG films, which I dunno if I'd say that.

I didn't like Picard, but I don't agree with this meme. I found season three to be the most digestible of the three servings of slop.
