I'd like you to think about how that conversation actually must have gone. Someone called in, ostensibly because they were raped. The automated messaging said "your call is important to us, and also recorded." Because that's what every line says before you are put through. Then they got on the line with someone. They said something about PCOS and a full beard. And then, they were told "you know this is recorded, right?"

Do you think they thought they were believed?Would you spend your time trying to convince them that you were a rape victim, or would you hang up knowing that they didn't believe you? That no one is going to believe you, because your voice is too low. We hear it all the time, don't we? You're too ugly to be raped.

And then, to add insult to injury, JKR tweets about this call from someone who is, ostensibly, a rape victim. So, now... now everyone knows or should know there's no privacy there. Your calls are recorded and subject to a billionaire listening to you and using you as an example to others.

I think it is a great idea so long as the billionaires go there to stay with the data centres for maintenance purposes. They are the only geniuses who can do it!

Humans in general should not have children. Each one of us is selfishly willing to destroy the world for our own comfort, which is moderately okay if there are a small number of us and absolutely catastrophic for life generally when there are 8 billion of us. The temperatures are going to make human life increasingly untenable, and humans aren’t even capable of wearing a mask to deal with disease so I have no confidence that we will deal with our global issues. If you have more than two kids and aren’t living a life of subsistence farming with them, I think you are actively immoral for increasing the wealthy population. Thank the childfree movement for existing, signed a childless xennial.

Maybe we can show this to the Alberta separatists and tell them they've already missed their chance? Bah, they'd probably just find a way to do something even stupider.

Seems like something an old Sherlock Holmes would do.

• It came on the heels of a court case that said Trump could only build his ballroom if there was a legitimate security concern (and all the right wing media had posts ready for ballroom support)
• He (Trump) had never attended before now
• The response from the SS seemed... lacklustre at best.
• Karoline Leavitt said that everyone should watch because there would be shots fired.
• He (the shooter) was entirely ineffectual.
• Right wing women are so botox'ed that no one could see them being upset; right wing men were standing behind their wives.

Personally... fake is not exactly the answer, but it's oh so convenient, and given that people were sending in tips about him before this, I suspect that if they hadn't wanted this to happen, they'd have done security normally and he'd have been removed from the premises before he shot. But maybe I'm just underestimating how bad the US government's security has become since they fired so many people.

I thought these were jobs Americans wanted to fill. I'm pretty sure I heard that line from Republicans... I guess I'm a little surprised they aren't just bringing the ICE detainees directly out to the fields.
