Had the same experience when I was testing zed. Was thinking it would be a lot better since it's written in rust but there wasn't any difference in memory/CPU usage between it and VSCodium, which is electron app.
I'm using Anycubic Kobra S1. By default its probably not the most open printer but you can install Rinkhalis to make it work with Orca slicer.
Its been in LAN mode since day one, haven't seen any outbound requests from it.
Why do think they should be here? Aren't they just regular parts, just more repairable. They don't have any extra openness on firmware side, do they?
You can give this a shot, it'll cache the until you are back home then it'll upload all of it. Plus it barely uses any battery. https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.eneiluj.nextcloud.phonetrack/
Migrated from NC to FileBrowser Quantum and its super light weight. https://github.com/gtsteffaniak/filebrowser
I've been waiting for the L7 host policies before applying it to the host, looks like beta is here. I'll give that a shot.
Nice work! This was the reason I moved my homelab stack to k8s with Cilium.
Why not do something that'd solve this once and for all like:
- Forcing the companies to have open source software for transmission unit so it can be vetted what they are transmitting
- Mandatory requirement to make the network connectivity optional, if someone wants they should be able to just pull the transmission module out. Not everyone wants/likes constant surveillance.
And this should be for all vehicles irrespective of country of origin or make
It's great, I spent 2 years finding perfect CSI for homelab and landed on Piraeus. The best part is you get full read performance of your local disk so I didn't have to use 10G, write are limited by network link between nodes. But that hasn't been a problem for me. Also, they're super responsive for any issues/bugs you hit.
Let me know if you have any specific questions about this.
https://www.usememos.com/ is another option that's super light weight and self hostable.
