Legacy code is still around for a reason. It’s not usually just a matter of refactoring it, but the business logic tied around it all.

Good luck lmao. Cisco will be underwater in years if they actually commit to this.

My favourite part of the metric system is that with it’s water weight being 1-1 with volume; measuring liquids is super easy with a scale.

These companies best hope is to lock governments into deals they can’t get out of.

That’s a large practically guaranteed flow of cash that will keep the companies healthy for a long time, off the back of taxpayers.

Please tag these with the authors name so I don’t see them from my filter.

What an original and deep comic 🙄

I highly doubt there’s many bots on Lemmy.

I happen to work in IT infrastructure, so I knew this was bullshit from the start. Just need to apply the tiniest bit of critical thinking.

This was one of the biggest misinformation/propaganda campaigns I’ve ever seen.

I won’t blame Zelenskyy for the claims, he’s at war and propaganda is a powerful tool. But the rest of the world just casually pilling on without verifying anything? (Including many well known and trusted news networks and big names). Absolutely unacceptable.

Anyone who works in internet infrastructure should have been shutting this theory down from the start, but because the misinformation is “good”, everyone’s fine with it somehow.

This event really made me lose faith in the world’s news organizations.

Hell, right below this post is another one talking about all the Russian bots who have disappeared and all the comments are “confirming” it.

You’ve got my reasoning correct (the questions are too pointed and susceptible to confirmation bias), but I still disagree with you in that these tools are designed to tell most people they have autism even if minor.

Some egregious questions that always pop up are “do sounds annoy you”(paraphrasing) and “do you find that social situations can be overwhelming”, and an especially bad one: “do you get fixated on specific topics or collections of items”. Most people will say yes, because they have hobbies and think they are “quirky” but this is really referring to obsession with stuff to the point it degrades your life.

Because of that susceptibility and the probability that a lot of people taking these tests already subconsciously think they might be autistic leads to basically everyone coming away from those tools with “signs of autism” at the least.

Then we end up in the current society where it’s apparently cool to be autistic and not some life ruining disease it is.

While I still browse reddit, all my interactions are made here and will stay that way.

Platform killed itself. Userbase is half bots, and out of the rest a majority of them are the tic-toc crowd.
