Pack it up boys, it's done. No GPUs for PCs in a few years. Hope at least the chinese step up their game
Mfs do you think this is a game ?
But seriously, he's not entirely wrong. Steam is an established monopoly and while now it's fine as a platform it will inevitably enshittify and at that point it will be hard for customers to drop steam for a better alternative (if one will even pop up at all).
Sadly, microtransactions are how you make money these days. Remedy made 40million with this latest one and calling it their greatest success, but it's a fraction of the 24 billion that went into mtx only on pc this past year. Remedy is also much smaller then EA/Ubi and iirc privately owned, so the secret sauce may instead be good game + small overhead + no shareholders demanding infinite money.
Edit: i stand corrected, Remedy is publicly listed.
The people that colluded and created a cartel to fix prices say that prices will keep increasing.
The disk is likely more cost-effective ( if only they'd continue to manufacture them ). Flash memory also degrades a lot faster than disk, especially if not read periodically.
Played the single player mode a few months ago and it's pretty good. It's very immersive and lore-friendly, absolutely gorgeous, and you can tune your difficulty ( which may be required because defaults are mmo-tuned and grindy as fuck ). The big caveat for single player is that you're essentially locked out of end-game equipment ( unless you tick "free crafting" or smth ).

The double-speak is amazing. Call it what it is, you dipshits: He FLED
This is the way.
I did the same purge a while ago, and found that most early access indie titles tend to stay on Steam, few make the jump. Also you can forget about getting any modern EA, ActiBlizzard or Sony title as they won't give up the blasted DRM. Heck, GOG had to even pull warcraft 1/2 from the store a while ago because Blizzard ended their agreement. Also modern Ubi titles tend to not make it because Ubi has a competing store AND uses Denuvo heavily. And speaking of denuvo, Frontier titles also use Denuvo so those are a lost cause.
Not sure what the fuss is with this story. Nvidia is no longer in the business of producing gaming gpus and hasn't been since they hid away the division's revenues. Do these people want to hear a confession, or what? They won't get one because nvidia still needs to pretend to shareholders that not all their eggs are in one basket.
Well yes, if they didn't build their studio in Layoff Valley, they would've been spared.
As if they didn't do that already. They're just saying the quiet part out loud because "fuck you, rube. What are ypu gonna do, whine to the FCC?"
