If we just redirected all the solar energy from the flock cameras back into the grid we could power the average American home for 2 whole milliseconds!

Think of the savings!

I am not totally sold on the argument that Natural Selection's merit function is purely to maximize offspring. It is trivial to come up with examples where that is a bad strategy. For example the smaller a herbivores ecosystem, the less they reproduce. A species which reproduced at the rate of locusts but only ate rare amazonian berries would very quickly drive the berry to extinction and then itself. So a more accurate "goal" for natural selection might be to maximize long term, stable, populations of offspring.

This ends up being kind of important, since it starts to explain behavior which otherwise doesn't make sense in the short term. E.g. It has been shown quite convincingly that altruism is a heritable trait in genetic systems. Essentially, even if X% of your tribe has the "altruism gene" it can be beneficial in the long term for that gene if you die heroically protecting your tribe.

So I think there might be a convincing argument there that if natural selection / evolution is pushing us towards stable long term offspring population. If so then our sub goals may not be that far off from optimal.

    idk, more analysis needed lol

I've just moved into an apartment with a built in gym.

Yay! I can save money on my gym membership

BUT! They dont have any barbell or squat rack. How will I ego deadlift now????

Wondering what dead loft alternatives I have on a cable machine?

Also willing to consider kettle bells or anything else I can buy / donate to the gym short of an entire barbell set and squat rack

    Yeah, about three hours.

The aim is to make it look like less ugly mostly. So herbs and ornamentsls

I have previously tried basil and mint before, but I don't think the basil ever got as much light as it wanted. (Or it could be beginners skill-issue)

The big I'll be on the right I often grow spring onions and chives in since they seem to be happy there year round

How the fuck do you get that? We already have studies from the ISS which investigate the role of gravity in bacteriophage infections, which may be used to develop advanced anti-bacterial drugs

But SaveTheTuaHawk knows better than all those microbiologists don't they

The world doesn't have enough supply of organs for transplant

We cannot grow synthetic organs on earth because complex tissue collapses under its own weight during the growing process on earth

Space has much lower gravity. We might be able to grow synthetic organs there.

When I'm old and my Grandkids can get full organ transplants with kidneys grown on the moon, I just might thank the Artemis missions.

Good reminder that I need to clear out a bunch of excessive formatting for the next blogpost I am writing.

I am a massive headings and bullet point use in AI defender. Specifically because when I ask AI a question I am not looking for writing, I am looking for an answer to my question, or a walk-through/procedure how to do things, and in both cases heavily formatted text is the easiest to parse and read non-sequentially.

As for why I think I have a bad formatting addiction, I am tempted to partially blame it on my reading, which is largely academic texts, where everything is heavily formatted. I think this is the case for similar reasons. Considering that most of the scientists I know do not read a paper from beginning to end and instead go Figures->Captions->Conclusions->Intro->Theory->Results (or some similar order)

So anyway, disordered reading is another argument for lots of formatting
