Again, I’m not debating the problems with surveillance for non traffic related issues. However these examples in your video are very clearly traffic cameras. It does not help the issue to carry water for aggressive car driver culture in the guise of being anti-surveillance.

Most of these cameras are traffic cameras. Personally I’m finding it a little gross that people against traffic cameras are putting on an anti-surveillance state image to take them down when in reality curbing aggressive driving is a pretty important part of pedestrianizing and democratizing urban centres. I’ve always had the vague feeling that this Flock camera debate has been hijacked by people who don’t actually care for improving communities.

I’ve discovered some really awesome local bookshops that have great deals on their used books selections (where I can find some really obscure books that previously I thought I could only find on Amazon). I like to go browse them on weekends now and always come out with a few books. I’ve also discovered I really enjoy A&W.

In general I’ve noticed that in trying to shop more local and being mindful of spending Canadian I’ve become happier and more satisfied with my purchases while also spending less money in general because if I can’t find a Canadian alternative, I just won’t get it. It’s been a pretty fun and fruitful exercise.

I disagree with your assessment that he understands the first question. His answer is just your typical responsibility deflection (“He wanted to do it”) combined with vague praise (“He is a good touch”). It’s akin to Maurice’s generic answers about football in IT Crowd (“Did you see that ludicrous display last night”). The only thing Trump DOES understand is using the military for his problems, which is why his answers ultimately land there.

“You think the Rockstar marketing team is trying to scam people with a shitcoin?”

Absolutely. Did you forget how predatory GTA Online is? Seems absolutely on brand for them to monetize their guerrilla advertising tactics.

There’s something extra sinister about advertising these days. Can’t decide if it’s the context of the greater world or something different about the ads themselves.

I wholly agree that Hogster is a perfect representation of America and its admin. I also wholly agree that having a target to hate is a good unifier for Canadians. That said, I still signed this petition because another good thing Canadians need right now is a loud voice that pushes back. Canadians need some morale boosting wins. Getting Hogster out of Canada would be such a symbolic win. I have faith in the average Canadian’s intelligence that even with a subtler and smarter ambassador replacement they would still be able to smell the bullshit and continue their focused hate of America’s current fascistic vector.

A pattern seen across many industries and corporate-government contracts. The brochure says “new funding!” but the reality for the workers is lots of upper management patting themselves on the back while working conditions remain strained, abused, degraded and gaslighted. New tools promising the world while serving a lesser utility for the people that actually use them while all responsibility for failure (higher and higher probability!) falls on the shoulders of the personnel. Meanwhile their pleading for new coworkers to help them with their work goes unheard and instead deflected with vague ramblings about efficiency and AI. It would be funny if lives and livelihoods weren’t on the line. The only positive from all this is getting a nice inside look at how stuff like the French Revolution fomented. If you’re a lover of reruns, you’re truly in luck!
