He's not saying he's not willing to make the movie. He was on board, a pitch was made, it was shot down. He's saying the movie won't happen due to the higher-ups at Disney.

The sentiment is not "I'm not interested in doing that any more", but "They don't want to make the movie and there's nothing I can do with it".
