Americans drive way, way more because of the layout of the entire country. It isn't like many countries where you can bike most places or take public transport, so many people are dependent on cars for a large part of their day. And the government heavily subsidizes gas, so the fact that the prices are increasing very dramatically are telling to even the Americans who don't understand economics or supply chains.

To anyone reading this, this is actually what you do in a situation where there are people around. Due to the bystander effect, you have to call out to specific people to do these things.

CPR only works if it's consistent, and you can't stop until EMTs arrive. After you command people to do these, you ask if anyone else is trained in CPR. Not knows. Trained. And then tell them to sit across from you so they can take over if you exhaust yourself. CPR is tough if you do it right, but you're keeping someone from dying.

Edit: To clarify, the trained portion is for legal liability. If you're trained, your legal liability goes way down if something goes wrong.

I'm CPR trained with many recerts over the years. AEDs do everything for you, you just have to apply the pads in the correct spot (every AED has a visual diagram) and press the big button. They're intentionally designed to be easy to use now.

Also, get CPR certified. Takes an hour or two at most and you could save a life.

I've always wanted to visit. My girlfriend is Native Peruvian and she told me that when she visited as a teenager, she was completely unimpressed and just wanted to go home when her class took a bus and hiked to it.

She said she really wants to go back the next time we visit her family so she can actually appreciate it
