Billionaires choose to be billionaires. Poor people don't choose to be poor.
It's ok to fundamentally disagree with someone and still be civil and polite when speaking with them.
Depends on whar you disagree about. Economic policy, art, media, normal politics ? Sure.
But if the fundamental disagreement is whether certain groups of people deserve basic human rights, then no. Fuck them and everything they stand for, I fucking refuse to be polite or cordial towards people who fundamentally think my girlfriend doesn't deserve the right to exist just because of her innate identity.
Lemmy, and the fediverse, is stronger with diverse people, opinions, communities - even if you disagree with them. Even normies of mainstream political parties you disagree with.
Again, depends on what opinions they are disagreeing on
Downvotes are not a disagree button. Lemmy is not training a personal algorithm to provide a echo chamber, downvotes should mean content is harmful to the community its in.
Yes they are, that's the literal fucking point of upvotes and downvotes, to signal whether you like or dislike something, the appropriate tool to deal with actual harmful content is reporting and blocking.
I have never heard of PIC roles being changed/swapped, unless the Flight Crew itself changes, especially not mid flight.
That sounds like a terrible idea, that is going to utterly fuck the cockpit authority gradient and command structure
And yet it is also still lesser
Generally co-pilot refers to the pilot not in command, as opposed to the pilot in command (pic), the roles of pilot flying and pilot monitoring usually change from flight to flight even if the same flight crew sticks together, and occasionally even during a single flight (especially during emergencies, since almost all airlines require the PIC to become the pilot flying, if not already, during an emergency).
Pilot in command never changes during a flight, so co-pilot generally refers to that role split, as opposed to whatever the duties of monitoring and flying happen to be at a given time.
Yeah, laugh at the death of innocent people.
No matter how much you hate the rich wankers who were on board as PAX, the pilots were just working their jobs, and didn't deserve this, and you're a disgusting fucking pos
Because cockpits have ranks, there is generally a captain and a first officer, but even in a dual captain cockpit, there is ALWAYS a pilot in command (colloquialy pilot, always a CPT) and a pilot (colloquial co-pilot, usually an FO). She was not the pilot in command on this flight, and therefore, in colloquial terminology the co pilot.
These roles are also completely independent from the duties of "pilot flying" (at the controls) and "pilot monitoring" (in charge of communication and instrument monitoring).
This wasn't remotely the first crash where an aircraft hit the ground at similar angles and descent rates, you're talking out of your ass about something you clearly have zero knowledge in
Why the fuck else did these utter idiots think one of the least Christian men on Planet earth would invite them for a prayer meeting ?
At least put up a fucking fence
That would be a density of over 750 g/cm³, more than 20 times denser than Osmium, the denset known material (outside extreme gravity wells)
The solution to problems with the internet is not a fucking surveillance state.
Set aside the complete obliteration of any online privacy, and the fact that these bans are completely ineffective (piracy streaming websites are already illegal in basically every western country. Still watched a movie on one yesterday), the internet is also a valuable and important resource for many things, including studying and finding support encouragement, nformation and safe spaces on issues particularly for children and teens growing up queer.
You're throwing out the baby entire god damn family with the bathwater.
All these bans do is push teens and children into LESS safe spaces on the deep web that don't care about enforcing UK regulations, and banning those sites is literally just playing an infinite game of whack a mole.
Banning children and teens from everyday life activities has never worked and never been a solution, just how "abstinence only" doesn't work to prevent teen pregnancy. The solution is to teach children early and comprehensively how to engage with these systems safely and responsibly, how to recognise warning signs of unsafe situations or fake information, and how to react appropriately to those.
