1 pass on the dome, 2 on the face. All things considered, a great shave.

Haven't posted in a while because I actually built up some social connections and genuine friendships in RL! So, the colleague who I went to the gym with is going through some harsh shit. Actually, we grew closer and befriended over our shared misery and yesterday, she hosted a small party at her apartment with another colleague, her sister and a close male friend. Haven't gone out in so long, haven't had this much fun and interaction in quite a while... But of course it also involved drinking and as a lightweight, I was still a bit intoxicated today. Nevertheless, it was great and made our bond stronger - not only as colleagues, but as friends. As it was rather spontaneous, I only had time for a dry shave yesterday. So I wanted some self-care today before my home workout (which I actually finished, but I went easier today to account for my status). This was perfect to wind down.

Tobacconist is one of my earliest artisan soaps and I really love the scent of it. As a former smoker who converted to e-cigs, I often miss the smell of good Tobacco. This and FMoM deliver that really well. Of course, the Mammoth base is also really cushioning for my skin. Earlier today I trimmed my goatee down to stubble length, so I really needed a good clean shave around it to define the edges. The Thorn delivered that.

As for my fitness progress: I got myself a hangable pull-up bar two weeks ago and actually managed to do one. Just one, but still a start! Currently I'm training them with band assistance. My mother was worried yesterday that I look rather thin to her, usually an indicator that I am unwell - so I stepped on the scale today, once before eating and after. Both weights were in the 88 kilo range, so I am definitely below 90 kgs at the moment. I wouldn't have guessed from looking at the mirror except that I see some progress in my arms. Suddenly, there are thick blue veins in my biceps that I've never seen before. It's crazy, but at 32 I now have a better form than at 23! This motivates me to continue, but I don't necessarily want to lose more weight. I still need to eat more quality food. Still, small successes on my way ๐Ÿ˜Œ

1 pass on both head and face. Couple of weepers on the dome, no idea why. Otherwise good.

Forgot to log a few shaves, including this one I did before my night shift. For some reason I got a few weepers on my scalp, don't know what happened there. The goatee is still going strong and I got the edges really neat, but atm my face only tolerates one pass.

1 pass + clean-up on both head and face. Enjoyable shave.

First day back to work in the books and as it was an early shift, I'm pretty tired. Surprisingly it wasn't too bad. Still felt like I needed a nice shave today - so this was a quick but enjoyable one. We already have fall weather over here in Germany, so Ace is pretty fitting for the season. I really like NO soaps in general, great lather is almost guaranteed. Today I used the Thorn for everything, since it's one of the few polyvalent/versatile razors I have who excel on the dome and the face. The Derby half-DEs aren't quite the greatest though, I think I should look for another alternative.

    • Lather: Wickham Soap Co. - Magnum
    • Post Shave: Bali Gents - Skin Revival Spray

2 passes on both head and on the face (except circle beard area). Leaf on the dome, Hawk on the face. A bit of minor bleeding on the face, but overall a nice shave.

For the last day off, I decided on a little wellness ritual for myself. Of course a good shave should be part of that too - so this came to fruition.

Wickhams Magnum has such a comfortable scent, it reminds me of some fancy bath salts. Perfect for a wellness shave. Despite this being a veg shaving soap (IIRC?) it had great cushion in the lather. The second pass on my face is where some tiny weepers appeared, I can only speculate why; most likely it's due to me trying to get the edges of the circle beard too perfect and using too much pressure due to that. Thanks to ZMs Rescue Potion, the bleeding stopped.

Tomorrow it's back to work. Originally I was scheduled for the late shift, but got a call on Friday - now I need to do early shift because we lack staff there. Unfortunate for me, but I'm willing to help wherever I can. Hope everyone here has a wonderful Sunday!

    • Razor: Leaf Thorn
    • Blade: Derby Premium
    • Lather: Barrister and Mann - The Full Measure of Man
    • Post Shave: OAM - Dolce Vita ASB

1 pass on both head and the face (around the circle beard) - good shave overall.

Did this shave before yet another nightly workout, this time lower body/legs. Shave went well, training also. Can't really go wrong with FMoM, it's one of my most beloved soaps. Today's razor combo was good, the Hendrix is a nice head shaver while the Thorn took care of the face and beard lineup. After only shaving with a foil shaver on Tuesday, this was a way better experience.

My "staycation" is slowly coming to an end, but at least the week has been productive so far. Went on a short hiking trip on Tuesday, got some house cleaning done, got some new furniture for my kitchen assembled. Also got myself two new games on Steam that I greatly enjoy so far - might post more details in the FTF thread if I don't forget. โœŒ๐Ÿป

    • Brush: AP Shave Co. 30 mm Tuxedo Fan w/ Black & Clear handle
    • Razor: HNDRX Razor
    • Razor: KAI Captain J-9 shavette
    • Blade: 2 Derby Platinum
    • Blade: KAI Protouch MG
    • Lather: Los Jabones de Joserra - The Witcher
    • Post Shave: Zingari Man - The Master, recovery splash

1 pass WTG on the head, 2 passes on the face around a circle beard/full goatee. A bit of bleeding on the face, as expected. Otherwise a good shave.

I know I said I was done with the full goatee last time, but my patchy growth got so bad that colleagues kept asking me if I have any kind of health issues going on atm. Tbh, it looked unkempt. While this one here is a bit hard to maintain, at least it grows nicely and looks tidy.

Anyways, it was a good shave. Our weather is already giving off autumn/fall vibes, so I reached for something heavier. The Witcher reminds me of the spooky season, my favourite season overall and it has a nice warm scent. Also, Josรฉ makes great soap with wonderful ingredients. I figured I need a very good base for the initial face shave. Yesterday I only did it with my electric trimmer, so today I needed to get the edges just right. Looks like I did a solid job.

I'm now having a full week of paid leave/vacation time and I'll use it for some R&R and some well needed tidying up at home. Did the shave before a late night workout - so far I am satisfied with my progress, but I lost a lot of weight recently due to stress and stomach aches. I'm down to ~91 kg (ca. 204 lbs.???) now, which should be good but I still have some stubborn fat in some areas. I definitely lack some kind of cardio and some better nutrition, which I also want to work on in my current free time. Hope you all are doing well, thanks for reading! โœŒ๐Ÿป

    • Razor: Leaf Thorn
    • Blade: Derby Premium

    • Post Shave: OAM - Dolce Vita ASB

Single pass on both head and neck, mostly WTG. Comfortable, but not close. But it doesn't need to be right now.

Since my last head shave was with a foil shaver, I kinda had the urge for wetshaving again today. To be absolutely honest, I think I have fallen out of the hobby loop and now just do it to feel good and smell nice. Things that no electric shaver can give me - there's still something special about being able to handle a brush, soap and safety razor.

Indigo is good stuff. There's something that makes smokey blueberries fit very well with September.

Yet another dentist appointment tomorrow, so I feel uneasy yet again. Like everything, this will pass.

    30. August 2026 - Smooth dome Sunday

    • Brush: None
    • Razor: Razorock Cyber Medium w/ 316L Bamboo handle
    • Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum
    • Lather: Better Be Bold - Head Shave Cream
    • Post Shave: Zingari Man - The Master

2 passes on the head, a rather good shave.

I forgot to post a shave I did on Wednesday before hitting the gym with one of my colleagues and her friend. Yeah, I trained at a commercial gym this week! Felt nice to be able to talk in between sets, my usual home workouts are more of a meditative affair. I was also able to still get 60 kg/135 lbs on the Overhead Press for a single rep, which was rather satisfying. Of course, going out and having some social connections is also truly a great feeling. Arguably even more so than any PRs.

This shave here was done before visiting my parents and doing some yard work with my father. Somehow we got along better than usual recently and it went well. I also did some home training after returning, and everything has its pros and cons - while the gym is much more social, at home I can choose my own music and don't need to wait for equipment to be free. Anyways...

The shave itself wasn't as enjoyable today as the one on Wednesday were I used Ouddiction by A&E. Sure, the brushless cream works when I am short on time and have other things to do, but a real soap just feels nicer. Somehow I had fewer weepers today though, just one behind my left ear (usual tricky spot). I like the Cyber for shaving my head, even though it blatantly rips off the Henson razor.

Hope everyone of you is feeling well and had a nice Sunday โœŒ๐Ÿป

Back when I was 12 or 13, I saved up money for a PSP bundle. It came with a leather case and... Ridge Racer . Unfortunately, I didn't think of a proprietary Sony memory card so I had to play it from scratch every time I turned the PSP back on. Once I got the memory card, I also got myself Ghost Rider which was surprisingly good for a licensed Marvel game. Basically, it alternated between hack & slash/beat 'em up levels and racing segments with obstacles to avoid and enemies to beat up with your chain. It also had unlockable comics for collecting certain skulls in levels/during challenges, so I spent hours with it either playing or reading comics on a tiny LCD screen.
