When I was in Urumqi, I was hanging out with a guy from Shenzhen. I asked if he liked snowboarding, he said yes, but he doesn't have a snowboard.

We get to the mountain, and there's some hints, on the ride over I'm talking about falling on ice, and he says he has fallen a couple times. Maybe it's translation or he just meant bad falls. He says he doesn't know how to put his boots on, so I figure maybe he's only ever used boa laces. We take the gondola to the top of the black diamond, we get our boards on. Guy says "How do I stand up".

Not only had he never snowboarded before, he had never touched snow before.

So I helped him ride to the bottom and got him practicing on the bunny slope.

I don't really have a place to do that. I took it to Kawasaki, they took it for a spin and said I should replace the brake disc, the brake caliper, the barely used 2023 tires, and the entire bike. They did this with no diagnostic or tests beyond the ride.

Used calipers to check, disc was within spec, then they changed the story to "the previous owner ran it without pads and the caliper left ridges in the disc", but the lines were basically cosmetic, you could barely feel them.

They claimed to hear rod knock, I didn't hear it.

So I took it to an independent shop and paid them 80 bucks to spend 2 days looking for problems for me to be aware of.

Yeah, now the issue that I've noticed is that the rear brake does basically nothing and the front brake gets squishy with even the moderate riding possible on Hanoi streets, gonna take it to a kawa dealership see if they can figure the issue, maybe replace all the hoses with braided ones.

The private dealer I bought it from put DOT 3 in while the manual specifies 4 and didn't inflate the tires so I'm not sure they'll be much use diagnosing issues.

I was, and people from his state saying he is a piece of shit, but probably better than the alternatives in the primary.

There were a bunch of signals, like him setting his pfp to hammer and sickle that let us delude ourselves into believing he wasn't the same guy who chased down 2 black people with a shotgun because he thought they must be trying to rob houses and that his support of Israel even when AIPAC was funding his opponents in the primary was just because he didn't really know anything and we could push him left.

Fascists will never vote for fascist-lite when the real thing is available.

Triangulation doesn't work. There's a reason the republicans never try to triangulate themselves to be 1% to the right of the democratic candidate, it's because it's always been bullshit and just a pretense for democratic politicians to support policies that are bad for their voters and good for their donors.

nobody was cleaning up their trash and locking it up to keep bears out.

There was a woman who ran a donut shop and would leave all the leftovers out for the bears. The town couldn't do anything to infringe on her freedom to feed wild bears in town.

Compare: 2 war criminals each responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths, the immiseration of entire countries, and millions of Americans descending into poverty and homelessness.

Contrast: Obama is probably not a pedophile, whereas Trump was Epstein's best friend.

I wanted a lightly used zx-25r, light weight, high revving, it would be a fun way to get around the city pretending I'm a sportsbike revving to 17000 rpm while barely generating 50 hp. But there was an even lighter used, newer zx-4rr for the same price. Not what I wanted, but obviously more bike=better.

But then there was a 2014 z1000 in great condition for the same price so I really didn't have a choice in the matter.

I have to push really hard to keep this thing leaned over, my feet feel like they're way too far back, I can't split like I normally do because it's so big, my thighs get cooked, there's literally no reason to leave first gear it might as well be an automatic scooter that likes to do wheelies.

Anyone have any advice how I can make it more comfortable or enjoyable?
