I heard about it and went to the store page to check it out. Saw denuvo, and marked the title as ignored. Not even worth pirating at that point, fuck off with that garbage. I own zero games with denuvo and that's not changing. Even if they remove it I'm still not buying it.

I hope piracy ends up beating denuvo so that garbage stops existing, not so I can pirate it.

Denuvo used to take months to years to crack. Now Denuvo gets removed from games within days to maybe a week after release. Piracy is winning, alright.

I love to see it, but publishers will still consider this a win for DRM. The vast majority of sales for most games happen in the first few weeks after release, so 13 days without a crack might be considered worth the cost of Denuvo in exec's minds. They'll only panic if it's available on day one, like with that hypervisor bypass that made headlines recently.

Meanwhile in reality, it's these recent bypasses that give people who pirate confidence to say it's gonna be a couple weeks tops so I'm not gonna pay for it

As is the mindset of an acquaintance i have that pirates everything

Pretty sure that HV works on most/all DRM, though? I mean, it can be insanely unsafe on the user's part, and incalculably risky at the very least, but it's still available on day one.

FWIW, said execs certainly show no signs of GAF abt user security, privacy, etc., so there's nothing (yet?) stopping them from further normalizing deep access to end-users' devices... under the PR fraud of "protection" against "hackers".

It doesn't matter if you "bought" their thing, you're still just a product to them. 😶

I think they'd be at least slightly bothered by Hypervisor being day-one, to the best of my knowledge, even if full cracks aren't. For those who're willing, it still allows games to be played at launch. I bet there are some firm words being exchanged in the C-suite recently, trying to pressure Denuvo into "getting it sorted".

I will buy this game when it's on a good sale and doesn't have Denuvo.

Hmm, I guess denuvo's not forever

Is there a place a person could go to find a list of reliably cracked games we can use? Didn’t realize this was possible if I’m being honest and now I’m worried about getting real cracks versus the reposts with a bunch of malware

There's crackwatch on db0 but I think .world might be defederated from there.

Outside of the fedi, there are the repackers dodi and fitgirl. They just compress someone else's crack for smaller downloads. It's been quite a while, but cs dot rin dot ru used to be the place to go for stuff like denuvo cracks.

How is 007? Been going back and forth between choosing it or metal gear

It's enjoyable but short and shallow for the price tag. It's about 15 hours long. If you're paying full price for a game, I would not recommend it just on that basis, but it is a fun and cinematic 15 hours.

If you are choosing between MGS5 and new 007 game, choose MGS5.

Edit: I want to expand a bit on why.

I have never played a single MGS game, nor I did play new Bond game (on that later). As of right now I am playing MGS5 for the first time and I am stunned on how fun, long and wide this game is compared to anything else. That is fucking nuts what this old AAA game offers to a player. Right before MSG5 I have finished Assassins Creed 1 and 2 and I will say that both ACs are far far away from what MGS5 offers a player. The game is truly a stealth sandbox. Probably an ultimate one too.

As for new 007 game, I have watched one channel where guys play old games and dissect the experience. They have played Blood Stone and kind of liked it. There are plenty of issues with that game but it was semi-fun to play.

Now one of these guys did a review of new 007 game. His main problem with it is that it is too repetetive and straight forward. Plot is not engaging, characters have no chemistry with a player. Some sections are too short (mainly driving, mainly pointless driving) and the others are plain simple. His comparison games were Hitman and Uncharted where he claims that devs of new 007 game failed to capture true nature of both games. He provided examples on why and they made sense for me.

His conclusion was that the game is okay, but doesn't offer same or better experience as the other 2 which games this game is compared to or inspired by. And both games are much more older and more fun to play than new 007.

tl;dr I highly suggest to take MGS5 due to how unlinear, sandboxy, how much it offers and replayability it has over a lineal gameplay of new 007. And MGS5 is half the price.

Edit 2: Also wanted to add that I am around half way though the MGS5 and its been over 30h of gameplay for me. I am also watching a play-through of this game to compare my experience to someone else who's much better. This guy plays on NG+ with all the weps at max and reaching all S ranks and their play-through is 20h. 20 HOURS, CARL! If you play for the first time, it offers you over 50h of gameplay. What modern game offers a player 50h of gameplay for 30 bucks? AND THERE ARE ALSO SIDE MISSIONS! I cant believe I am simping for this game so much.

I’ve not finished it, but it’s been very fun so far. My standard for the best Bond game is probably Nightfire, and this is every bit as good.

Also as someone who would normally not purchase a game at full price, I do feel like I’m getting my moneys worth, and despite hating Denuvo, I don’t mind supporting IOI here.

I’ve not played it myself, but one of my favorite youtubers/podcasters (Leo Vader for the curious) is a Hitman sicko and I’ve listened to him talk about it and watched him play a little.

It’s a more action-oriented Hitman game that, like Hitman, still makes heavy use of environmental gameplay like picking up a brick/bottle to chuck at an enemy or oil barrels you can spill to make enemies slip.

If you’ve played the modern Hitman games and only gone through each mission once, there’s probably not enough in 007 to justify the full price, but if you replayed each Hitman mission to try out different approaches there’s a lot of that kind of replayability in 007. He had spent several hours replaying the first few levels just attempting a bunch of different challenges the game offered.

Good I don't know if I'd ever have the balls to trust a hypervisor exploit, you could literally make windows lie to you at that point about the state of your system

Is it a real crack or just a "crack" (hypervisor bypass)?
