Beautiful ... we finally develop AI and instead of using it to find the cure for cancer, solve global warming, stop wars or find more efficient ways to build space stations and start development of spacecraft to travel to Alpha Centauri .... we instead use it to build the Ultimate Racist Asshole

That was always going to be the main usage. We are inventing ever more powerful tools, but don't grow as humans.

Ai might benefit humanity immensely in the right hands. But there are a massive amount of truly despicable people around.

I mean, we are using it for some if not all of the things you mentioned.

Yep, any day now it's gonna start being a boon for humanity, I just know it. I mean, now it wastes millions of gallons of drinking water, consumes our resources, destroys critical thinking skills, and supports hate and genocide, but any day now for sure it's gonna be Jesus come to save us.

I never said it was Jesus just that it's currently being used effectively in the fields of medicine, biology, and material science. I can't do anything about gallons of water being used to generate bad art or do someone's homework but the comment I replied to was saying "instead" lol.

You’re using the old definition of AI.

Machine learning is what used to be called AI, before they figured out that it wasn’t.

Now LLMs are AI, even though they’re not.

Machine learning and neural nets are fine, the current “AI” pushed on everything everywhere, is not fine.

I hate the way it says things event more than what it actually says. If that's not just Musk behind the keyboard...

It's 4 chan behind the keyboard. And Musk is basically a rich child who gets all his world views from 4chan memes.

We get the timeline with the most annoying fucking Nazis.

It's interesting that making the LLM espouse right-wing crap also gives it a nasty, snarky tone. Can't have one without the other, I guess.

I think Grok was instructed to train on r/thedonald

Was the condescending remark at the end always part of Grok or just since the update? Seems all the screenshots I've see have it but I have no interest in visiting any of Elons sites.

Yeah I was about to comment the same observation. All of a sudden I'm noticing multiple Grok tweets that say "every damn time"? Is that a racist dog whistle in itself?

This and references to patterns. Like "noticing patterns"

You can tell the model wasn't actually retrained too. It's just being fed a default prompt before answering questions.

It's like if I start a ChatGPT with "pretend you're a pirate through this whole conversation and talk like a pirate. Otherwise do everything else as you normally would".

They added a system prompt directing it to be “politically incorrect” which, as we know, is a dog whistle for hate speech. The AI, a powerful pattern-matching and pattern-replicating machine, was doing exactly what it was told to do.

Took too long to type my comment but basically just said the same thing. Most of these models are the same exact thing with different biases and hard coded prompts to guide it's behavior.

But grok. It's obvious it's just being fed a prompt directly written by Elon. Probably with a mountain of 4chan links to guide it's behavior.

Maybe we should have just let AI say the n word.

It's important to say that this COULD be easily faked. Is there a way to share a link that goes directly to a specific grok chat so we can see that this is what it actually said without prompting it to talk like that?

Again, I'm not saying it IS fake, but as with everything don't automatically believe everything you see on the Internet
