Do they not understand that Medicaid recipients work? Often full time jobs or even multiple.

When will they have time to labor for farmers? Are they quitting their jobs? In that case they will need at least minimum wage, and farm workers get sub minimum wage, so the food system will collapse due to skyrocketing prices.

This is why we can only get immigrants to do the job in the first place.

This was the plan all along. Them, prisoners, abandoned kids, etc.

FARMING IS SKILLED LABOUR. YOU CANNOT JUST REPLACE THOSE DEPORTED FARM WORKERS WITH ANY RANDOM PEOPLE.

I work on a farm in Canada and holy fucking shit, us local people have NOTHING on the temporary workers coming up from Mexico. They are insanely skilled at what they do!

    Fascists always have bad ideas.

    Because smart people aren't fascists.

    Fascists always have bad ideas.

They aren't bad ideas to fascists. You just have to understand that fascists consider you tools, not as people. All their ideas will be based on that.

In this case it is a bad idea though. Wheelchair bound cripples and dementia patients aren’t going to farm a single crop no matter how many of them you throw into the fields. They’ll die there and the crops will wither away and feed nobody and make no tax revenue

    Mocked? Only mocked?

This is one of the most abhorrent statements ever made by a politician that wasn’t in a slavery or open racism era.

They are testing the waters for this and worse. This needs to be spotlighted, shamed, and crushed.

I really want a manual labor job. I can stay in shape and listen to audiobooks all day long. I would happily dig ditches, mop floors, or do farm work.

I can’t afford to have most of those jobs. They don’t pay enough for me to afford to live.

The jobs that do require training and I can’t afford to stop working and learn.

Idk why Conservatives are so happy to force people into jobs that make them worse off than they already are.

Ah yes because my cancer having ass won't be physically wrecked trying to do work like that.

Do these assholes even listen to themselves?

EDIT: To those responding to me, this is less about me and more about the fact that they expect actual amounts of labor to be able to be done in this way. The job will be done badly, slowly, and inefficiently. The crop will still rot on the vine. Sure, it's because they want to hurt people, but like all fascist idiots, they fail to see how they're hurting themselves by reducing the ability for the wealthy to still actually turn a profit. Hard to profit off of a harvest that rots on the vine because your medicaid recipient workers literally cannot do the job fast enough.

This is exactly their plan. Make your existence so miserable and poor that you have to take any job available, even if it's glorified slavery.

  • Farm workers are chronically underpaid. Farm work could be good work if it was half as stressful and paid double.

What we need is a reform of the way that agriculture is done. Instead of relying on migrant workers who have no realistic chance of standing up and demanding a good treatment, the working conditions should be made attractive enough for americans to work there again.

I’d like to believe the american people would revolt before they willingly walk themselves back into slavery, but then, y’know, gestures broadly at everything…

Of course, we need to make the asocial and undesirable ‘work-shy’ elements of society contribute their fair share to the fatherland’s struggle, the great leader has spoken! /s

The concentration camps didn’t begin as a policy of industrialized state murder, but grew out deliberate policy decisions that viewed people as problems that needed ‘correcting’ or eliminating, instead of viewing people as individuals. And we are seeing the same here today:

    • Red triangles marked “political prisoners… [which] in Auschwitz were, above all, Poles.

    • Green triangles marked “criminal”, imprisoned as a direct consequence of committing a forbidden act, or after release from prison in cases where the criminal police regarded the sentence imposed by the court as too lenient.

    • Black triangles marked “asocial” prisoners, imprisoned in theory for vagrancy or prostitution, but in fact for a wide range of other deeds or behaviors, loosely and arbitrarily interpreted by the police. The Roma in the Birkenau “Gypsy camp” were classified as asocial.

    • Purple triangles marked prisoners imprisoned for belonging to the Jehovah’s Witnesses, regarded as enemies of the state because of their pacifistic beliefs.

    • Pink triangles marked homosexual prisoners, in practice exclusively German, who were imprisoned on the basis of §175 of the German criminal code.

Ah yes, my elderly mother who has a tube coming out of her kidney because they had to remove her bladder will surely be a good replacement for someone well acclimatized for working outside, doing lots of physical labor. Sure. 🙄

I thought I read they’re not removing Medicaid for anyone over 60. The work requirement was only for 18-60.

  • Finally, they're unrolling their new slavery initiative. This will really complement the prison slave labor they're already using.
