Multiple US embassies are telling Americans they cannot evacuate or help them get out of the Middle East (www.businessinsider.com)

American citizens across the Middle East are attempting to follow official advice and evacuate as conflict escalates in the region following US and Israeli attacks on Iran on Saturday.

But multiple US embassies have said they are unable to help citizens trying to leave.

"The U.S. Embassy is not in a position at this time to evacuate or directly assist Americans in departing Israel," the US Embassy in Jerusalem said in a post on X on Tuesday.

"The highest priority of the Bureau of Consular Affairs is to protect the lives and serve the interests of American citizens. Across the globe, we serve our fellow citizens during some of their most important moments and trying times – births, adoptions, medical emergencies, deaths, arrests, and disasters."

    Our government doesn't care about us beyond what we can do to make the rich richer. If we're not engaged in that effort 18 hours per day, then we should just fuck off and die, as far as they care.
