No and if British petrol hasn't been such greedy bastards Iran wouldn't have spiralled into theocracy:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat

In 1953, the CIA- and MI6-backed 1953 Iranian coup d'état overthrew Iran's Prime Minister, Mohammad Mossadegh, who had nationalized the Anglo-Persian Oil Company.[5][6][7] The coup reinstated Mohammad Reza Pahlavi as an absolute monarch and significantly increased United States influence over Iran.[8]

So they helped end democratic rule and put a despot in place that was corrupt in their favor. The son of whom they are trying to get back into power now

    This corruption caused this:

A theocratic despot who somehow hated the us and UK.

This all could've been helped by letting the democracy be and paying a fair share for the oil extracted from the country, but that was somehow a bridge too far.

This war started 47 years ago, the minute that the imperial core’s puppet regime was overthrown.
