It's a hard pill to swallow that people who claim to care about war would choose more war over less war. It's basically a report that says "6 million people couldn't pass a third grade level competency test with months of prep time".

"Less war" like what we saw happening in Gaza between October '23 and January '25? You make this claim as if we can't examine the very recent past when her predecessor and former running mate was in charge and should instead rely on feelings and faith to convince ourselves that the thing we watched happen under a Democratic leadership for 15 months would never happen under a Democratic leadership.

Yes, less war like when Biden refused to hand over weapons payed for by Israel which Trump later bragged about delivering. Less war like the official stance being negotiating ceasefire, putting forward UN Ceasefire Resolutions which rely on release of hostages, as opposed to Pete Hegseth Secretary of War saying Death or Exodus for every Palestinian. Less war like building an aid flotilla and distributing food, as opposed to all aid trucks being paused for months at the start of the Trump admin.

Biden was incompetent about dealing with despots like Netanyahu, but Trump wants to kill every Palestinian.

This is full of half truths and outright falsification. Biden delayed a single shipment of weapons. "Official stances" mean nothing as the slaughter continued unabated. The aid flotilla cost $200 million to build and only delivered a few trucks worth of food before falling apart.

Do you really have that big of a hard-on for Biden and Harris that you'd help whitewash their participation in all this? Can you explain exactly what it is you get out of doing that?

Imagine if you used all that energy to help rid the party of these god awful human beings that wouldn't think twice about doing the same thing to you if it helped their chances at get just a little bit more power. Instead you use that energy to craft a false reality in order to protect two proven losers and their ilk.

Even if you believed that both sides were equal on the topic of Gaza, against all evidence, then you would still be an idiot to allow the Trump admin back for every other issue in which the parties differ.

The morons running the democratic party thought it was more important to support a genocide than to gain votes. Somehow you think those same morons would protect us from fascism or make anything better.

That statement exists as a result of fierce misinformation campaigns by supporters of the Trump administration including Netanyahu and other Zionists.

The DNC have never, will never, support Genocide. Genocide is the eradication of a demographic of people, which is the explicit stance of the Trump administration alone. Joe Biden's administration pushed for ceasefire, threatened Netanyahu constantly with loss of support, built aid distribution networks to feed Palestinians.

Biden didn't push for a ceasefire at all. He continuously shipped weapons to israel and even bypassed congress to ship weapons to them. He temporarily paused a single shipment of 2,000 pound bombs, said he was "frustrated" with netanyahu while still doing everything he wanted, and he had a floating pier built that let limited amounts of aid through instead of telling israel to let aid through on-ground. This was apparently enough to fool people like you into thinking biden was serious about helping the Palestinians. If he was serious about stopping the genocide, he could've simply stopped all shipments of weapons to israel (you know, the ones carrying out the genocide). This is so basic and obvious that I'm surprised you try to argue otherwise.

Amount of aid increased after the pier was built. All Aid cut off completely for months when Trump entered office.

The amount of aid technically increased but was not nearly enough and would've been much more easily and quickly satisfied by simply telling israel to let aid through on-ground instead of this ridiculous workaround.

This is the strategy that democrats always use to justify carrying out heinous acts, just like how biden was instrumental in creating the student loan crisis and then decades later forgiving a tiny fraction of that debt so that supporters can point to that and proudly proclaim "see, he's doing something!"

    • Hamid Bendaas, a spokesperson for the IMEU Policy Project, said that during the meeting "the DNC shared with us that their own data also found that policy was, in their words, a 'net-negative' in the 2024 election." Two other senior aides at the pro-Palestinian organization also said the DNC had drawn that conclusion.
    • Axios independently verified that Democratic officials conducting the autopsy believed the issue harmed the party's standing with some voters.

The intrigue: The IMEU Policy Project is now accusing the DNC of withholding its report in part because of its findings on Israel.

    • DNC spokesperson Kendall Witmer denied that.
    • When DNC officials announced last year that they wouldn't release the audit, they said it was because they didn't want the report to distract from the work of winning elections.

Remember this the next time someone tries to lecture you on why your primary candidate is simply unelectable.

The tactic the Dems have been using since I was able to vote has been "We're not AS bad as them so vote for us" and it worked for a short time. This just shows they're the same side of the same coin to me, just different in text.

You understand nuance and a binary choice, right? "They fielded a 34-time felon pedo traitor. We're not a 34-time felon pedo traitor. Vote for us" should be more than enough.

For that matter, you understand evolutionary process, right? The idea that "better" becomes "best" after more-than-one cycle?

Dems were to chickenshit to investigate the voter machines that were rigged by musk, and other gop alighned entities, they are totally complicit in the current regime, if its not obvious. both gop and dnc, were unlikely to back out of israeli AID, too much money politics involved.

  • Well let that be a lesson for the world leftists : you can't ignore Gaza. Sudan, Yemen, atrocious wars and armies terrorism on population, they aren't less or more important. But Gaza is colonialism at its worst : modern, sponsored, lying, covering-up, and so on. You can't stand for humanism if you don't support the Gazan people, or if you sell weapons, send cheers or do not step up against netanyahu's government

Whether it's missing the courage, being blackmailed or bribed, or hand-tied because of past-accointances but Kamala never did the right thing for the Palestinian people, and beside the fate of Gazan, the price to pay for such inaction is the world's rapid rise of a renewed, more strenghtful, and shameless fascism.

Why don't you stop and think for a second why the democrats would decide it's better to risk votes than to stop genocide? Clearly you had to leave practically all online leftist spaces because you're not actually a leftist. So stop cosplaying by saying "we" are all stupid. We're not stupid enough to think a party that refuses votes just so they can continue supporting genocide is willing to help at all.

The time to demand better is literally any other time than when you get to choose between fetid neoliberalism and full throated fascism. The fact that the DNC fucked us all by, among other things, not having a primary doesn't change the fact that Harris would have been preferable, even though she sucks.

I've been told by someone in a similar moral position you can't criticize Democrats during the election then afterwards because they're building up to the next one. Make that make sense.

That is, pardon my language, fucking stupid. We do deserve better from the Democrats, my only stance here is if it keeps someone from voting in the general election they're cutting off their nose to spite their face.

It is, but it's not an isolated case. There's supporters who pretty much hold the Dems on a pedestal and will shout you down to make you not want to vote for them.

Idk what you want from me. I don't like those people, I'm just really tired of living in fascism and don't like the idea of revolution. Not accusing you of doing this here but the flip side of this is that people in these discussions tend to treat me like I'm the king of the Democrats and am personally responsible for them running shitty candidates. Unfortunately I'm just some guy who thinks you have to play it as it lies. Like, in the context of a general election, where you actually do have two defined choices, what does "demanding better" actually mean? I can see I'm rambling now so I'm gonna stop. I gotta go to work anyway but this shit is just so frustrating to me.

  • The issue is that when they're up for re/election is the best time to actually grill them and hold them to task. They can say all kinds of platitudes and promises in the primaries to win over the party conventions. But we should be criticizing and hold their proverbial feet to the coals even more during that time. Most are just tired of them assuming our vote without doing anything to actually acquire it. There's no reason or time they shouldn't be held to task and the argument is commonly stopped on "Well do you want X to win" as it was in the W. Bush days and during Obama's elections as president. It's a tactic that works so long and so we should demand something better of them than they're not as bad during it as well the primaries.
