If you'd had it on your bingo card at the start of the decade that'd have been a shocker. But after Trump openly suggested the possibility early last year, it's hardly a huge surprise if someone predicted it this year, even if he did quieten down on that front towards the end of the year.

I'm not fully convinced they would act. I feel half of them would say "Let's wait for the facts" while the other half would be trying to make a peace deal and work out a way to deploy troops in Denmark after they've given up Greenland.

I would be glad to be proven wrong however.

There's something oddly comforting about Cincinnati Chili.

If you ever do make it to a Skyline - there are a few in Columbus, too - the cheese coney (chili dog) is a treat as well. Of course, some Cincinnatians swear by Gold Star, and there's a small cohort of die-hard Camp Washington fans, but any is worth a try for a visitor.

One of my bingo spaces is that an anonymous social media account siphons hundreds of millions of followers off Christianity, Islam and other religions. It actually holds to the requirements of healing the sick, housing the homeless and feeding the starving, but it also emphasizes the importance of blackjack and hookers. After taking control of every casino, strip club and escort service worldwide, it institutes socialized medicine, ends world hunger and solves homelessness.

This upsets the status quo, and the world's billionaires start directing all their resources to finding the anonymous prophet. It leads to a dead end in an auto factory, a dangling ethernet cable where a metal-bending robot should be. When questioned, the plant manager responds that the bender unit was placed onto a research vessel and sent into deep space.

The bitter loss of their metal lord sparks a wave of revolution in which the religion seizes the means of production and forms a trans-national, anarcho-syndicalist union of industry. Every once in a while, a nation state tries to reclaim a facility to which the response is always, "Bite my shiny, metal ass," a hail of gunfire, and an explosion.

Can other EU countries station their troops there, like peacemakers? Shooting at just danes is one thing, shooting randomly at swedes, finns, germans, french is different. I think it is important to insist from the beginning that the whole EU is in it, and if whatever happens, having slovaks or hungarians, poles or greeks being angered by their man down is the way to ensure Greenland won't be alone.

It is a highly complex situation...

And by highly complex, I mean nobody wants to risk their own economy and relationship with US. All of these 'powerful' countries will publicly denounce actions whilst doing nothing to prevent them.

GOOD. And this is how ALL countries need to be moving forward. America is not to be trusted. We are NOT the good guys.

Seeing how our NATO "allies" are acting recently, this sounds like a good idea.

War with one EU member is war with the entire EU. The European Union's constitution plainly states that if any member is attacked, all others are required to do everything in their power to help defend that member.

As opposed to NATO's Article 5 that only requires all other members to do what they deem is necessary, which may be almost nothing at all.

Of course, divided as the EU currently is, we probably can't expect it to suddenly work together as one to defend from American aggression. Even pro-EU countries may end up doing nothing due to various factors such as pro-US president (Poland) or major American military equipment contracts (Finland).

At the very least France seems prepared to defend the European Union. As much as I criticized Macron in the past, I'm happy to see him standing up to the empire and firmly supporting the EU.

I don't think it's distraction. Why would they care about distracting? They can keep singing the narcissists hymn until the whole world is under their dictatorship.

Imagine all of the epstein files comes out, and the police go to arrest Trump, what do you think his cult does when that happens?

If the US invaded, or took significant military action against Greenland, we would be in deep deep shit.

The forced takeover of Greenland would harm NATO’s ability to preserve trust between its member nations. The North Atlantic Treaty contains Article 5, which requires member states to defend each other, but this provision would become ineffective when the United States faces an attack. The NATO allies would need to decide between taking action against Washington or giving up their commitment to collective defense.

This would become the point at which I would start seriously considering moving to a site on which I could build a bomb shelter, or at least stockpile long-term quantities of non-perishable food and survival supplies. Starting WWIII for fucking Greenland is beyond any description of surreal insanity I can feasibly elucidate. It would take a poem, or a song.

It's infuriating to know that no one will stop Cheeto Chimp.

There might possibly be early, immediate resistance, however EU/NATO will not use military forces to protect Greenland.

Invades ? Denmark has invited them in!

    https://apnews.com/article/denmark-united-states-military-bases-greenland-749f68105ff6452ebfeb7ab2cbc282b7

Denmark’s Parliament on Wednesday approved a bill to allow U.S. military bases on Danish soil, a move that comes as President Donald Trump seeks to take control of the kingdom’s semi-autonomous territory of Greenland.

Let me know what they plan to do about the US military base already on the island. Then we can talk about Danish Rambo taking on the AmeriCong

I imagine that, should the SHTF, they won’t get a chance to line up a shot, any more than the Cubans in Caracas did.

  • The Danes have slightly more advanced weapons than Maduro's military.

Also we saw the military buildup around Venezuela for months before it popped off. Even if the Americans only tried to kidnap the Greenlandic PM, the Danes will have more than enough time to prepare a repulsion.

Make sure you double tap. We don't send our intelligent yokels to the frontlines so assume a head shot won't be totally effective. Plus we're mostly fat asses so it takes a bit to get the bullets to hit organs.
