I'll take, "What happens when you gut your federal cyber divisions?" for 800, Alex.

But that was part of the "waste, fraud, and abuse"!

What's that you say? There is no evidence of that? Well, the morons that kept repeating (and keep repeating) that phrase like trained pets had no definition of that phrase and no evidence for any of it, any more so than they did for "voter fraud", so I guess destroying literally anything in the government could be justified by claiming it was "waste, fraud, and abuse".

The statement follows a report from The Washington Post that officials suspected a foreign actor was behind the attack, risking insight into lawmakers’ communications with nonpartisan staff.

Threatening to leak sensitive government documents and then blame Chi-ran is a pro gamer move, gotta admit

Something tells me that it was some unpatched system that was probably hit. And I bet the patch for it has been available for like 6 years or something.

I would guess the unpatched system is some DOGE bullshit. And the hacker is a DOGE employee. And the data is sitting with some Trump goons who think they can use it as leverage against Congressmen negotiating the shutdown agreement.
