It's funny how thinly veiled the greed of the film industry is. The news headlines are always direct about what truly matters, how many billions they made.
No executives give a fuck about comics or stories, just that their slop made more billions than the other slop.
I’m still surprised Avatar does as well as it does. They’re gorgeous movies, but the stories are so completely forgettable, no character development, just visuals. I could get as much story out of a 3Dmark benchmark.
At least the Avengers movies have made a bunch of cultural memes people talk about. I don’t think anyone knows anything about Avatar other than “big blue nearly naked aliens”
Didn’t they extend the original release by a few weeks and achieve this exact record back in 2019??
I think these stats should only count the original theatrical run.
Well, until the next avatar re-release at least.
