I've been trolling my kids for some months now where every time they mention Minecraft, I yell or insert into the conversation, "Luanti!". It's taken a bit but my propaganda is finally starting to work π
post
Ok, but what game? Luanti, Vintage Story, Minecraft? Dwarf Fortress? Don't Starve?
I mean, in case you're not already referencing it, this is pretty much the canonical modding book: https://rubenwardy.com/minetest_modding_book/en/index.html
Yea i did read first chapters but i feel like there are not all informacion in it, more leke some basic things. Meaby am wrong.
Also the problem is this book is for mods in minetest game, and since i want to make mods for Voxe Libre this book doesnt realy teach me that. Althou it helps understending how things related to engine works.
Hmm, yeah, never tried to write mods for VoxeLibre, but I would be surprised, if there's a guide for it in particular.
That modding book is still applicable. The Luanti modding API is still applicable. I believe, you just need to know the technical names for the VoxeLibre blocks and items, so you can reference them in the code.
In the F5 menu, you can see the technical names for blocks you point at.
Not sure, if there's a way to see that for items in-game. There might be a mod that displays them. Otherwise, you can look in your Luanti directory. For me on Linux, that's under ~/.minetest/games/mineclone2/.
I thought Mojang had already simplified the lodestone recipe recently?
EDIT: Oh, it seems like it's not Minecraft, nevermind then.
Yea this is Voxe Libre, its like Minecraft but its open source game.
I've tried Voxe Libre a year ago or so. It's sad that Luanti is a slopware now.
Do any of your mods have potato knishes?
Wow this is much more advanced. With this kind of knowlede you could make some real improvments to the game..
They have already done that! :)
Mess around with a mod pack like "Feed the Beast" or "All The Mods", they have so many tech mods that you can do crazy automation factories with. You can probably get some inspiration from them and some of them are open source so you can check how the APIs work together in practice (just don't copy them directly, please).
I probably have thousands of hours in modded Minecraft, just doing automation and upgrading my gear. Never cared that much for building :D
I've been dabbling with adding halogens like bromine liquid and fluorine gas to the game, but lost interest. Adding bromine isn't too bad, but gas isn't done well in Minecraft.
You should take a look at the Create addon Destroy
