US democracy is being dismantled by a group of billionaire oligarchs, conservative ideologues and Christian nationalists who aim to permanently change the US in their interests. Those interests include taking over Canada and our resources.

Tl;Dr for americans offended by the headline

More like the facade of US democracy, having served it's purpose, is being disposed of

As a non American I'm very excited to see what happens with the 2028 election when Trump runs again

Yeah but it's expected for them, this would truly signal the fall of America as we know it. The President only running twice is like one of the things with America.

It's bad already, but if Trump steps down or the rest of the government finally does something about him and prevents him from running, then it's just business as usual clicking that ratchet to the right. If he's allowed to run again or keeps the presidency that's the signal that the ratchet has reached the end.

The stealing of elections doesn't end with the president. This is part of a 50 year long game cooked up by the business roundtable in 1971, and project 2025 was just the latest iteration, and only the public facing part.

Prez is too old and feeble, and politically weak, to run again. He will try if he's still halfway cognizant, but he won't succeed in getting a third nomination. No, it's going to come down to who emerges from the nest of vipers as their leader, and I don't think it will be either vance or rubio.

We're well past halfway cognizant, but I don't think that'll stop him 😂

He really has lost it. He's a vegetable, running on auto-dick, while his aides run the show and try to handle his outbursts of stupid.

He looks like shit too. Especially those pictures that catch him outside of his heavy make-up and choreographed events. Plus he's getting super fat-er. Dude is close to 300 if he's a pound I don't know who he thinks he's fooling, (claimed 220 pounds, 6'3" in his mugshot in GA. Now claiming like 230 something or whatever, right below the obese label. He's 5'9" or so now too.)

"The Americans". As an American, I do not support this in any way. These are delusional thoughts of a senile person who is supported by his chronies

I've never even heard it beyond his tweets. Like not a single soul has mentioned it IRL

    But do what about it?

No offense (genuinely) but what every day americans think or say to each other about their government doesn't stop them from doing awful things both domestically and internationally.

So it's Americans' fault for not overthrowing the most powerful empire on earth yet, got it. Great take. Except your government probably sucks too, maybe you should overthrow that one then talk shit.

Fucking kids these days, no one wants to throw their life away on a half baked revolution anymore! /s

I don't see why we shouldn't make yankees feel bad about not overthrowing their government.

It might motivate them to actually do something.

How do you envision that playing out? I don't think you have thought through what it takes to overthrow a government, let alone the US, then what would happen afterwards.

If you wished for that on a monkey paw, you would see what I mean here, without organization, there firstly will be no revolution at this time.

Secondly, at all times without that organization and some muscle and leadership and the rest, we would be subjugated by groups just as bad if not worse.

So, the thing to encourage, is organization. Say a federated community of innumerable groups organized on what they agree on that can cooperate on what they agree on. One with clear sets of rules fairly enforced with appeals for violations that can be decided ultimately by a jury of that group's users.

We can still show what your lot is lacking then you'll know what to do after organizing. Because, I'm sorry, you're the bad guys either by wittingness or weakness. And, LET'S BE REAL HERE, a lot of us outside the US have way worse than the aristocratic working class within the Imperial core. Stop removed and show some work on YOUR side. Or are you waiting for the Chinese and the Russians reach Manhattan? Do you know what would happen next?

I reject your logic my friend. You and almost everyone else could be condemned with this same logic.

Not throwing your life away uselessly is not a bad quality. Going off half cocked actually would do far far more harm than good, as the government would get a chance to proscribe all the groups opposing it they claim are part of whatever conspiracy.

Aristocratic working class? In the US? What are you nuts? Our rulers are billionaires and their lackeys, administrated by lawyers. Lawyers are not the working class, they are parasites by the way.

Yes, aristocratic. A fat bozo burns O2 that would be available for 20 African kids otherwise. That's how the International Division of Labor Exploitation works.

You are arguing for something I already affirmatively stated first, they are aristocrats. I took issue with the working class part of your preceding statement. Nonsensical reply.

No. The Orange clown and his circus, maybe. The overwhelming majority of Americans either laugh or cringe or both at the senile Pedo-Cheeto in charge.

I'm not sure I even know any Trumpers who wouldn't just join-up with the Canadians on day-one. Its bizare the juicy tea these commenters are convinced they've found in a nothing-burger.

Orange man couldn't even rally the people around invading a land with all-of 56,000 people, and anyone believes he can drag even the most ignorant USians into Canada? Half of any would-be "invasion force" would be shot in the back before they reached the border. THAT'S how AMERICAN or even "real" this idea is.
