I have a hori hori knife and a Japanese garden sickle. Both can only be mistaken for weapons if you are the kind of person who thinks everyone is a criminal

It has a serrated edge for cutting through stems or roots. Mine has a ruler etched into it to measure depth, the brand he had is more simple and elegant tbh

Edit: it's hard to tell from that picture, but it is angled for scooping dirt
