It's really strange to me that an anarchist would spend any amount of energy trying to convince anyone not to vote. If the argument is that the tiny amount of time/energy spent voting a few times per year is somehow detrimental to one's ability to engage in direct action, then couldn't we also say that your time/energy would be better spent on direct action than spreading anti-voting memes and arguing with people about voting? It also feels borderline suspicious that these anti-voting memes are always being pushed right before a major election in the United States.

I joined this instance because I wanted a horizontally organized, anarchist-friendly place to hang out, but this is just really turning me off from this place.

The point is that electoralism doesn't take only a little time. There's millions of work hours wasted, from the most civically minded people in order to make elections work. And that's just the volunteered ones. Not to mention the millions wasted to actually paid work.

    Voting justifies all this waste.
