Android TV alternative OS for Mi TV Stick? (lemmy.ml)

Hi everyone! I want to degoogle my TV box (Mi TV Stick, running Android TV 9), so I'm looking for an alternative OS.

Is there any custom ROM or alternative OS I can flash on it? If not, what's the best way to get as close as possible to a degoogled TV experience (debloating with ADB, alternative launchers, open source apps, etc.)?

I'd also appreciate any hardware recommendations if a different device is a better starting point for this.

I use Projectivy on my Shield. It's a much cleaner interface. It's still the Google OS though, just a different launcher, no ads, no recommendations.
