Gotta have evidence to hand over to the DOJ in 2028. I think you have to be careful about identifying suspects to avoid pre-emptive pardons, but we will 100% have a Supreme Court case about the limits of presidential pardons, which, at this point, we need to eliminate entirely with a constitutional ammendment.

Seriously. The pathways to fascism are fucking lit with a spotlight: the presidential pardon, warantless spying, cellphone tracking, federal backdoors to all domestic services. Dems need to CLOSE THESE DOORS IMMEDIATELY or we deserve to become the 21st-Century's so-called DDR.

we will 100% have a Supreme Court case about the limits of presidential pardons,

I hope we don't, because this Court will establish that there are no practical limits. Better that we keep pardons out of the courts entirely until we fix the pardon power. Getting any amendment passed is a huge slog, but this one ought to get bipartisan support.

We can't do anything to fix the pardon. It's in the constitution and interpretation of the constitution is 100% in the hands of the SC. It's an ammendment or nothing.

We need the newly expanded SCOTUS to read that corrupt pardons are inherently prohibited by the principles of liberty and justice for which the Constitution stands, and are therefore void. If they can make up presidential immunity from nothing we can do this, if we push it.

No, the pardon needs to be eliminated entirely; any interpretation of one Supreme Court can be overturned by another. But, sure, I'll take what I can get.

But we do need to impeach some justices.

The trick is to make Trump so toxic that anyone wanting to run in the GoP in '28 will have to have a record of stopping him. Once that happens, impeachment is on the table. Dems can't do it alone, they have to get republican senators on board. Specifically they need 7 from this list: https://www.senate.gov/senators/Class_III.htm Which will be especially hard for some of them like Grassley, who is actually a zombie.
