In the UK or public holidays are mostly just like “May Bank Holiday”, “September Bank Holiday” and so on. We don’t even invent a fake King’s birthday, because that’s always at the weekend so they can do trooping the colour in London.

It's literally remembrance day next week but we chose to make the horse racing the public holiday (Melbourne) and Novembers big day. Next week everyone walks past the old men selling poppies. Pretty sad really.
