Isn't it more "Tesco's", the possessive rather than plural? In the way you'd go to your mate's or your mum's or Jimmy's. I feel like we do that with shops too. I'm pretty sure I say Tesco's and Lidl's. Sainsbury's has it built in.

Tesco's, your local pub, opened by Theodore Benjamin Tesco.

I know it's more like a habit than an actually serious thought, but I still find it rather weird, as a non-native.
