I had posted this as a response to a recent (at the time) news article about Jerry Seinfeld visiting Epstein Island. The post was immediately removed by the admin, citing the no politics rule. Which I thought was a bit ridiculous, as it's news if anything, not politics. But you can argue that anything is politics, so I didn't feel like fighting it. I did make this altered version, which technically fit the rules that stated "no politics outside of what is mentioned in the show" because I blocked out words so that all that was left was actual dialog from the episode. But I didn't end up posting it at all. Not sure if this joke makes much sense now considering it's no longer a timely reference.

It’s always blown me away how unfunny Jerry is.

I swear Larry David met him and realized how unfunny he is so decided to make a show full of really funny people and make him the star.

At the risk of defending Jerry Seinfeld, I'm sure there was a legitimate place for him in the 90s monoculture. A milquetoast inoffensive white dude telling harmless observational jokes had the kind of mass appeal advertisers love.

He was already a pedophile in the 90s

He started dating a 17 year old in 1993 when he was in his late thirties.

    He’s never been ‘inoffensive.’

I knew someone was gonna come at me as soon as I typed that. I think it should be pretty fucking obvious that I was referring to his a public persona as an entertainer, how he was viewed in the 90s monoculture I was referencing.

Do you really imagine I'm trying trying to say that he was inoffensive as a human being?

He was playing basically himself as a character right down to the same name so it’s hard to separate the two when the creators didn’t want you to.

I can't say I found him terribly funny, never "burst out laughing til you can't breathe" funny, but I did find him amusing in an absurd kind of way. I appreciated his show more when someone said it wasn't a show "about nothing", it was more a show of how a comedian (or one particular comedian) develops his bits. And in that perspective, I think the show is interesting enough, but still not particularly funny. It also highlighted to me just how absurd so much of society is. Like having a serious discussion about humor with a user named SatansMaggotyCumFart.
