Which I guess can be said about most places. Also the diners have largely lost the plot and are a shell of their former greatness permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children) NJ ranks consistently on the top 5 of education and they’re currently 12th for infrastructure. It definitely is expensive and I do agree the diners are on the decline though. Where’d you end up? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Keilik@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 child) I looked it up and my schools were in the bottom 30 worst in NJ so that probably has something to do with it. Probably also relates to my opinions on the infrastructure too. Ended up in the northernmost regions of NY across from Canada and it’s absolutely wonderful if you can handle the cold. As a side note, and I have no idea why this is, but the Taylor ham/pork roll (dont @ me I’m name agnostic) that you buy from Costco is 1000% better than any other grocery store and I don’t know why. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 1 point 1 week ago I’ve never been to the Rochester or Buffalo areas but I have been to the western side of Lake Champlain which was nice. I loved visiting Ithaca too (holy shit those waterfalls are glorious). Thanks for the Costco tip, can you buy reasonable portions of porkroll or is the minimum like half a log? permalink fedilink source parent [–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 point 1 week ago lacking or decrepit infrastructure Such as? permalink fedilink source parent load more comments (15 replies) load more comments (15 replies)
