In Eastern Europe, it can be added to soups, particularly borscht; works well in some burrito-style wraps (shawarma, spring rolls and such) and on sandwiches, instead of mayonnaise, ketchup or whatever. Or better yet, it goes nicely together with tomato sauces, hot sauces or mustard, especially if not mixed but put next to, so both sauces are tasted together. But especially, you want to get some crepes, wrap marinated mushrooms in them, and dip into sour cream mixed with strawberry jam. It's fantastic. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 weeks ago Is nice! Great light weight version of quark :3 permalink fedilink source parent [–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 1 point 2 weeks ago It is rather close to sour cream. They can replace each other without major issues. permalink fedilink source parent [–] StupidBrotherInLaw@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago Schmand: like crème fraîche but with 150% more atherosclerosis! permalink fedilink source parent
