You have a lifetime pass for now.

Edit: Sorry to break the bad news to some of you, but software companies cancel "lifetime" licenses with both contempt and impunity.

I hate this argument. Why should anyone quit using something that works perfectly fine just because a company might do something someday?

Jellyfin isn't going to suddenly be unavailable the day plex changes its service.

Let people use what they paid for, and switch IF that ever comes up. It's obviously working for them.

I hate that argument too. Looking at the text of the comment you replied to, I don't know where you saw it.

Edit: Can some neurotypical person please explain why the fuck I am getting downvoted?

Me too, I guess daring to offend the great Plex gods gets on peoples nerves.

Oh, yes, that's probably what it is. Thank you.

FWIW I used Plex before and it seemed fine and I´d understand the inertia to move off of it. I just sort of got started again after exhausting the local thrift stores of DVDs I wanted, so I decided to start on a path with a better future, so Jellyfin it was.

Because "I hate that argument too" could be referring to you hating the argument that you replied to, not that you also hate the argument of the person above them. Maybe saying "I agree" would have been more clear.

"I hate that argument too" is "I also hate that argument" which is the same thing as "I hate the same argument that you hate, the one you just said that I'm directly replying to" which is the same as "I agree."

    Literacy crisis is real.

Edit: But thanks for explaining it, though I find it unconvincing. Do people really not know how to read "too" in this context? And with such confidence to downvote?
