Context time: I grew up in Philadelphia, and Philadelphia ('the city of brotherly love' from ancient Greek 😄 ) is where I learned about something called a "cheesesteak."
Yeap, our family had them once in a while, pretty much eaten upon the idea that they're terribly unhealthy, and really NOT something to be consumed on a regular basis, however delicious they tasted. (because they are delicious)
Here's where it gets interesting (at least for me)-- a "Philly cheesesteak" is one of the easiest things to replicate in the universe, yet as with this post, somehow (almost miraculously) ALWAYS finds a way to get it wrong. ALWAYS.
(It's almost like a law of the universe at this point. XD)
OP:
- thinly-sliced cuts of steak, not chunks of steak
- fresh, Italian bread, not that abomination bread, or whatever that is
- green bell peppers, really? (usually we do pickled cherry peppers and banana peppers)
- Cheez whiz / provolone
Seriously, before I expire upon this earth, could we have a SINGLE person who understands how to make a goldurn 'Philly cheesesteak?'
