Not a fan of the new look. If you're in the same boat, plug:

about:config

into your URL bar, and search for:

browser.nova.enabled

Toggle it to false using the button to the right.

There are functional changes that Nova also introduced: this won't effect those - only the aesthetic.

Mozilla has made Firefox just as unstable as Chrome. There was literally no justification to making the UI change. I was fine even when they pushed out the quantum release and we were stuck with Photon for a bit.

Honestly could care less about these constant changes that serve no real purpose. It's just a gimmick.

I have a theory that jarring UI changes are done as a way to measure user engagement with different browser/program/OS functions and even start analyzing someone's mental state if paired with fingerprinting data. I know that's incredibly paranoid yes, but it is logically possible.

I don't even want to leave this comment. Fediverse gets scraped by big tech the same as everything else. Can't stand this modern hellscape.

edit, my point of even leaving this comment in the first place; firefox doing this kind of thing is a pretty bad sign imo

I think it's just that most people like the new design, basically every normal person I've talked to likes the new type of design more.
