Something interesting is also happening now. There's a rumor that InXile, the devs of Wasteland, have been asked to make a new Fallout game. I'm hopefully that it'll be a return to the classic style. However, the latest game they're working on, Clockwork Revolution, is a first person game, so I think it's likely it'll be in the modern style. Still, they have been better at writing Fallout than Bethesda has, even when it wasn't called Fallout.
