I totally agree with giving states more control. The thing is, if I'm ever discussing it, I'm not going to be as vague as "states rights". That's my point. It's not that the argument is bad, but that the only reason to be vague is to conceal the true intent.

Yeah, KDE lets you modify just about every hotkey, so it's probably possible to do what you'd want, but it'd be a pain in the ass. There's a chance someone has already done this work though. It might be worth looking into for you.

I already said. Whatever makes the most money next quarter. It's not some amazing end goal they're working towards. It's whatever they con convince investors to put money into. Almost always the marketing is not about AGI. The marketing is how they're going to replace workers. You don't need AGI for this.

It's adorable that you think it's something more intelligent than this.

Only coming up +5 during this election does mean it was that close. This was a historic election for shifting towards Democrats. +5 this election basically means it would have been very close, or she would have lost, during any other election.

"States rights" is never specific because it's talking about state's right to own people, or segregate, or other racist things. If it's for something good then you just say what you're actually wanting to do.

The current industry? No, they aren't. Academia? Maybe. The current industry is not out to do something like that. They're thinking about how they can get more investor money next quarter.

yes indeed agi is what most companies are after when they say ai.

In the past, yes. Right now? No. The current models are not attempting to create AGI. They're trying to create a product they can market easily. Honestly, AGI probably would have marketing issues that the current models do not have. The current models are essentially statistical prediction models, not intelligence. They don't reason (despite the industry using that term for marketing). They can't understand something that is totally outside their training data. AGI could.

I don't really think it's slut shaming to make fun of the woman for jerking off some man in a theater with a bunch of people around. I don't give a shit if you want to sleep around, and I also don't give a shit if you want people to watch. That's all fine. The people around need to consent though. It's shaming her for being an asshole, which overlaps her sluttiness.

I hope this isn't the case, but the timing of the movies is really good to get people into Dune. They'll need the books to fully understand the parallels though.

Hopefully Trump doesn't do the things we suspect he'll do based on what he's said, but, if he does, hopefully it's a moment humanity can learn from (again). Hopefully we come out of this and people stop trusting charismatic leaders. Dune may be more relevant than ever.
